Location: Various (Community Locations & Remote) Contract Type: Contractor (Minimum commitment 20 Hours/Month) Start Date: As soon as possible Remuneration: Competitive hourly/sessional rate Role Overview: Spectrum Health is seeking an experienced and flexible Contractor GP / Locum Doctor to join our expanding panel of healthcare professionals. This role involves a minimum commitment of 20 hours per month, providing medical cover across a range of care settings including nursing homes, GP surgeries, and remote consultations via teleclinic platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent practitioner seeking flexible work, clinical variety, and the ability to support patients in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Key Responsibilities: Provide general medical services within nursing home settings Offer locum cover in GP practices and community-based clinics Conduct remote consultations and teleclinic appointments via digital health platforms Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions Work collaboratively with nursing and allied health staff across multiple care settings Provide safe, high-quality care in line with Spectrum Health protocols and national clinical guidelines Essential Requirements: Fully registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) Professional medical indemnity insurance Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in general practice or community care Comfortable using digital health systems and conducting remote consultations Strong interpersonal and clinical decision-making skills Reliable and self-motivated with a flexible, patient-focused approach Desirable: Previous experience in nursing home medicine, community or telehealth services Familiarity with Irish primary care systems and HSE/HIQA regulations Access to own transport for community-based work What We Offer: Flexible working hours with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per month Competitive rates and prompt payment Administrative support and streamlined systems Opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary, patient-centred healthcare team Variety of clinical environments, both in-person and remote
