Job description

As a Senior Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for working with drivers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of sand and other materials to Oil & Gas job sites. The Logistics Specialist serves as a critical hub in our operations, coordinating with our drivers, vendors, and field team to ensure our clients’ loads are delivered safely and on time to various Oil & Gas job sites across the United States. Providing dispatching services will occupy approximately 75% of your time, with the remaining 25% spread across resource planning, analysis of ongoing operations, reporting, and drafting suggested plans of action for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Managing the ordering and delivery of loads of sand on multiple load boards
• Proactively monitors routes and status of loads
• Maintaining driver rosters and ensuring timely driver check-ins
• Provide a single point of contact for drivers, field managers, and external customers
• Handle a high volume of calls, texts, and emails from drivers, field team, and external customers
• Ensure accuracy of job allocations with all purchase orders
• Reconciliation of all load data in internal and external dispatch applications
• Helping drivers maintain their DOT compliance by helping them within their hours of service
• Compliance with all safety rules, standards, and regulations.
• Communicates and collaborates with other logistics specialists to ensure seamless handoff
• Understands how to prioritize according to urgency and importance and immediately escalates any potential issues with the direct supervisor
• Run ad-hoc or recurring reports as requested by the direct supervisor or senior leadership.

Requirements

• College degree
• Ability to communicate both verbally and electronically very well in both English and Spanish
• Previous dispatch or logistics experience
• Ability to use web-based software used by the company (after internal training)
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Show a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Have a positive disposition, a strong desire to advance his/her career, and a willingness to accept feedback
• Possess an innovative mindset that is always seeking to make processes more efficient
