Low Code Software Engineer

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive Software Developer to join a critical digital delivery team within a major privatised government organisation in Sydney.

OutSystems is an industry-leading enterprise low-code platform, but because it is a specialised technology, we value core software engineering principles and an appetite to learn above all else.

Whether you already have hands-on OutSystems experience or come from a background in traditional full-stack engineering (such as C#, .NET, Java, SQL, or modern JavaScript frameworks) and want to master an enterprise low-code platform with full team support, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Build, configure, and maintain robust web and mobile applications using the OutSystems enterprise platform.
• Integrate front-end and back-end services with existing enterprise systems, REST/SOAP APIs, and SQL databases.
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and testers to translate business requirements into clean, scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code/architecture reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Rapidly learn and apply OutSystems best practices, with structured mentorship from senior team members.

What You Bring

• Strong Foundation in Software Engineering: Practical experience building web applications using an object-oriented or modern language (e.g., C#/.NET, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Database & API Proficiency: Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL) and consuming/building RESTful web services.
• Growth Mindset: High curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm to learn and master OutSystems (formal certifications or training support provided).
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge technical detail and business outcomes within a hybrid enterprise environment.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to OutSystems, Mendix, Power Platform, or other enterprise low-code platforms is highly regarded, but not required.
