Description At Valsoft, our mission is to acquire and nurture vertical software businesses that deliver mission-critical solutions in their niche markets. Since our founding in 2015, we've acquired over 84 businesses, and our global family now comprises more than 2,500 employees across 20+ countries. Our unique model fosters an environment of rapid growth, providing you with unparalleled opportunities to shape your career. Join Fluent Software Group, a proud member of Valsoft’s operating groups, as we embark on an exciting journey of global growth! We’re seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and passionate M&A professional ready to make a significant impact. In this highly entrepreneurial role, you’ll cultivate valuable relationships with software business owners, brokers, and other key players, driving capital deployment and investment opportunities. As a full-cycle M&A Associate Director, you’ll combine your sales and relationship skills to spearhead business development while leveraging your analytical and financial expertise to lead and execute comprehensive due diligence. This is a unique chance to manage, invest, and deploy substantial capital swiftly, with the exciting potential to build, expand, and lead your own M&A team. Requirements Identify M&A targets that align with Valsoft’s growth objectives, aiming to generate $200M+ in buyable revenue opportunities per quarter. Employ a proactive approach, reaching out to potential targets through various channels, conducting exploratory calls, and fostering relationships with owners and sell-side advisors. Evaluate and assess target acquisitions against Valsoft's criteria, and determine realistic valuation expectations. Conduct a comprehensive pre-acquisition due diligence encompassing both commercial and financial aspects in collaboration with the Montreal team. Negotiate deal terms, ultimately aiming to achieve $15-20M per year in acquired revenues with the support of the Investment Partner. Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For in Our Next Leader: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Proven experience in investment banking, private equity, M&A, or corporate development within a capital market environment. Exceptional business development and financial analysis abilities, including expertise in building financial models. Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time. Possession of CFA or CIIA qualifications is a plus. Knowledge of the buy and build model, with experience or familiarity in VMS or software considered an asset. A genuine curiosity and eagerness to learn about various businesses across diverse industries. A growth-oriented mindset, always striving for personal excellence and process enhancements. Strong interpersonal skills that foster authentic, lasting relationships, quickly. An entrepreneurial spirit, capable of independently overcoming challenges and establishing operations in new markets. Proven leadership potential with the ambition to build, expand, and lead a local team in the future. #FluentSoftware
