About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced compliance or governance professional to establish and lead a dedicated first line compliance function within our Debt Market Services (DMS) division.

Reporting to the Head of Transaction Management Group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust compliance governance across our DMS business. Working closely with clients, loan servicers and internal stakeholders, you will coordinate regulatory obligations, oversee lender of record governance activities and support AML and financial crime compliance initiatives.

This is a highly visible role that offers exposure across lending, loan servicing, securitisation and regulatory governance, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their impact within a respected financial services organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ASIC Industry Funding returns, OTC derivative reporting, Modern Slavery reporting and other regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate implementation of new or amended policies, frameworks and processes.
  • Lead governance and oversight of the Lender of Record (LoR) Policy Framework and associated compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate due diligence and governance assessments for new and higher risk lender of record proposals.
  • Support administration of the LoR Steering Committee, including agendas, minutes, action tracking and governance reporting.
  • Assess, escalate and manage remediation of material compliance issues and breaches through to resolution.
  • Manage the annual AML compliance attestation program across clients, servicers and service providers.
  • Coordinate AML and financial crime activities, partnering closely with specialist AML teams and business stakeholders.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, servicers, operational teams, Legal, Risk and Compliance functions.
  • Lead and develop a small compliance team while providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

About you

We're particularly interested in hearing from professionals with experience in:

  • Loan servicing or lending environments
  • First line risk, compliance or control functions and regulatory governance
  • Financial crime, AML/CTF or regulatory reporting
  • Non bank lenders, servicers or broader financial services organisations.

You will also bring:

  • Relevant qualifications in law, commerce, finance, risk or compliance.
  • Experience managing compliance frameworks, obligations registers and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit regulation, responsible lending, complaints and hardship obligations.
  • Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF obligations and financial crime risk management.
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes and implement governance processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial and operational considerations.

We love hearing from people who are inspired to shape the future with us. If you're excited about this opportunity or about joining Perpetual Corporate Trust, we encourage you to apply.
