Manager, Email Security & Threat Defense

We are looking for a Manager of Email Security Engineering to lead a distributed team focused on protecting our enterprise messaging environment. You will own the secure email gateway, the cloud email protection stack, and the domain authentication posture, while driving measurable reductions in successful attacks like phishing, malware, and Business Email Compromise (BEC).

Core Tech Stack & Expertise

• Security Platforms: Deep expertise in enterprise email platforms (Proofpoint, Mimecast, or Microsoft Defender for Office 365).
• Authentication & Protocols: Proven track record of enforcing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC across complex sending domains and third-party senders.
• Messaging Architecture: Exchange Online mail flow, encryption gateways, and email Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Threat Defense: Phishing response, BEC tradecraft, sandboxing, and post-delivery automated remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and set priorities (including on-call coverage) for a distributed security engineering team.
• Strategy & Roadmap: Own the technical roadmap for gateway and cloud-native controls, impersonation defense, and automated remediation.
• Domain Authentication: Drive the enterprise authentication program to a strict DMARC-enforcing posture without disrupting legitimate business mail.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with SecOps and security awareness teams on user reporting workflows, incident response, and closing the loop on phishing simulations.

Who We Are Looking For

• Experience: 8+ years in messaging or security engineering, with at least 2+ years of experience directly leading or managing engineering teams.
• Language: Advanced English (B2+).
• Certifications (Bonus): CISSP, GCIA, or vendor-specific certifications for deployed email security platforms.
• Bonus Points: Experience building automated phishing response playbooks.
