Manager, ESG Reporting & Compliance
Reporting to the Vice President, Sustainability, the Manager, ESG Reporting & Compliance is responsible for leading Alamos Gold’s ESG reporting, disclosure, sustainability data governance, and reporting compliance programs. The role serves as the Company’s subject matter expert on sustainability reporting and is accountable for the preparation of external ESG disclosures, management of associated assurance activities, and implementation of evolving reporting requirements.
Operating with a high degree of independence, the Manager, ESG Reporting & Compliance provides leadership on ESG reporting frameworks, data quality, disclosure controls, and regulatory readiness while serving as a key point of contact for investors, rating agencies, assurance providers, and other external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and publication of Alamos’ annual ESG Report, Modern Slavery Report, Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs) disclosures, and future reporting requirements under the Consolidated Mining Standard
- Manage ESG data collection, validation, consolidation, governance, and reporting processes using Alamos’ sustainability data management platform (Novisto)
- Lead third-party assurance and verification engagements, including coordination of evidence collection, control reviews, management responses, and audit readiness activities
- Lead Alamos’ assessment and implementation of emerging sustainability disclosure requirements, including Canadian Sustainability Disclosure Standards (CSDS), IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, ensuring organizational readiness and compliance
- Lead responses to ESG rating agencies, investor questionnaires, CDP, S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), Sustainalytics, and other external benchmarking initiatives
- Develop and maintain reporting methodologies, governance processes, internal controls, and supporting documentation to enhance disclosure quality, consistency, transparency, and assurance readiness
- Collaborate with site, corporate, finance, legal, investor relations, and operational teams to ensure accurate, timely, and decision-useful ESG disclosures
- Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen reporting processes, data quality, system capabilities, and disclosure practices in line with industry leading practices and stakeholder expectations
What You Bring!
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive experience in ESG reporting, sustainability disclosure, assurance, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or related disciplines
- Significant experience within the mining, natural resources, or other asset-intensive industries, with mining industry experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience preparing disclosures in accordance with leading sustainability reporting frameworks, including GRI, SASB, and emerging IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards
- Experience with ESG data management systems and reporting platforms; experience with Novisto is considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience leading assurance, audit, verification, or disclosure control processes
- Experience managing complex reporting cycles and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality public disclosures
- Ability to travel regularly to Alamos Gold operations and offices, both domestically and internationally
- Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, including GRI, SASB, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and mining sector ESG reporting expectations
- Experience preparing public ESG disclosures and sustainability reports for investors, regulators, and other external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of materiality, disclosure development, regulatory reporting requirements, and ESG performance measurement
- Excellent written communication and technical reporting skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Experience managing ESG data collection, validation, governance, and reporting processes within a multi-site organization
- Strong understanding of internal controls, data quality management, documentation standards, and disclosure governance
- Experience leading third-party assurance engagements for sustainability disclosures and ESG performance data
- Proven ability to establish and improve reporting processes, controls, and data governance frameworks
- Experience responding to ESG rating agencies, benchmark assessments, investor information requests, and external stakeholder inquiries
