Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Manager, Workforce Optimization is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for Resource Optimization Center (ROC) and centralized scheduling functions GBS supporting Bon Secours Mercy Health. This role oversees workforce optimization initiatives focused on maximizing resource utilization, improving operational efficiency, enhancing scheduling effectiveness, and ensuring consistent service delivery across supported operations.

The Manager partners with operational, clinical, and administrative leadership to develop and implement workforce strategies, staffing models, scheduling processes, and performance improvement initiatives that align with organizational goals. This role is accountable for operational performance, service excellence, KPI management, workforce planning, and continuous improvement across centralized scheduling services.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Resource Optimization Center (ROC) and centralized scheduling operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, operational consistency, and alignment with organizational goals. Lead and develop scheduling teams while driving productivity, quality, and service excellence.

• Lead workforce optimization strategies by overseeing staffing allocation, scheduling, capacity planning, and resource management to maximize operational efficiency. Partner with organizational leaders to support workforce forecasting, labor planning, and enterprise staffing initiatives through data-driven analysis.

• Works with nursing leadership to establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics to evaluate productivity, service quality, and resource utilization. Analyze performance data, provide leadership reporting, and drive accountability for operational results and continuous improvement.

• Lead initiatives that improve operational efficiency through process standardization, automation, technology optimization, and workflow enhancements. Support organizational transformation efforts while promoting best practices and sustainable operational improvements.

• Partner with clinical, operational, HR, finance, and administrative leaders to support workforce planning, scheduling strategies, and operational priorities. Foster strong cross-functional relationships and communication to ensure alignment and effective service delivery across domestic and global teams.

• Ensure workforce operations comply with organizational policies, labor guidelines, and operational standards by overseeing quality assurance, audits, documentation, and reporting. Support risk management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement to maintain operational integrity and compliance.

Licensing/Certification

• Registered Nurse (RN), UKG Certified (preferred)

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, statistics, mathematics, industrial engineering, healthcare administration, management or related field (required)
  

Work Experience

• 7+ years of relevant experience, including leadership responsibility in workforce or operational environments including experience in workforce management, staffing operations, scheduling operations, healthcare operations, BPO, GBS, or shared services environments(required)

• Experience in a healthcare environment supporting hospital operations (preferred)

• Experience with workforce planning methodologies, labor optimization strategies, and operational forecasting (preferred)
