Manager: Short Term Insurance Claims

The Manager: Short-Term Insurance Claims is responsible for leading the end-to-end claims function, ensuring efficient, fair and customer-centric claims handling while maintaining regulatory compliance, operational excellence and strong financial controls, primarily through effective management of the outsourced Claims Administrator (CLC). The role provides leadership to the Claims team, driving service excellence, continuous improvement and a high-performance culture that reflects oobainsure's values. Claims Oversight & TPA Management Complaints management Governance & compliance Talent management & people leadership Operations & process management Reporting & analysis Partner & stakeholder engagement Compliance leadership Customer experience QUALIFICATIONS - Matric certificate (or equivalent) - NQF level 5 Higher certificate in Short Term Insurance - Completed RE5 regulatory exam - Proof of registration and compliance with FSCA REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE - Strong leadership and people development capability - Technical knowledge of short term claims processes, specifically for Home Owners Cover (HoC) - Expertise in Third-Party Administrator TPA) management and oversight - Process design, SLA management and SOP implementation - Analytical and reporting capability (loss ratios, complaints, claims trends) - Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills - Excellent communication, with ability to handle escalated customer issues - Adaptability, resilience and attention to detail REQUIRED COMPETENCIES - Results-driven delivery - Strategic problem-solving - Customer focus and empathy - Coaching and talent development - Organisational sensitivity
