Australia-based • Remote working supported • Mainland China business-hour alignment • Mandarin + English essential • Cantonese highly valued

Use your Mandarin and English skills to deliver accurate, evidence-based medical information for healthcare professionals and patients, while collaborating with an international life sciences team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

ProPharma is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Medical Information Specialist to support pharmaceutical clients and enquiries relating to Mainland China. Based in Australia, you will respond to medical and safety information requests in Mandarin and English, using approved scientific resources and established quality processes.

This is a hands-on medical information role that combines healthcare communication, scientific interpretation, accurate documentation and close collaboration with colleagues across the international Medical Information team.

WHY THIS ROLE

  • Put your Mandarin and English communication skills to work in a specialist pharmaceutical and healthcare environment.
  • Support healthcare professionals and patients by helping them access accurate, balanced information about medicines.
  • Work with a cross-border Medical Information team and gain exposure to established global quality and safety processes.
  • Work remotely from Australia, with a schedule designed around Mainland China business hours.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Handle medical and safety enquiries from healthcare professionals, patients and other stakeholders by telephone, email and approved digital channels; deliver professional, clear and empathetic responses.
  • Use approved product information, standard responses, relevant scientific literature and client resources to provide accurate, balanced information in Mandarin and English.
  • Translate and proofread medical information correspondence and relevant documents between English and Mandarin Chinese, maintaining clinical meaning and quality.
  • Identify, document and escalate adverse events, pregnancy reports, special situations and product quality complaints under ProPharma procedures and client requirements.
  • Record enquiries and actions accurately in enquiry handling systems, meet agreed service deadlines and perform quality checks on responses, translations and safety-related records.
  • Follow applicable regulatory standards, ProPharma standard operating procedures, client working practices and data privacy requirements; collaborate with colleagues on case resolution and quality improvements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We welcome applicants from relevant healthcare and life sciences backgrounds who can explain medical information clearly, work carefully with written documentation and manage enquiries independently within established procedures.

ESSENTIAL

  • Native-level professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, including spoken communication and clear, accurate written Simplified Chinese.
  • Professional fluency in English, with the ability to translate medical information accurately between English and Mandarin.
  • A qualification in pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, pharmacology or a closely related healthcare discipline (or equivalent relevant qualification).
  • Current legal rights to work in Australia and ability to work hours aligned with Mainland China business operations (China Standard Time, UTC+8).
  • Strong attention to detail, computer literacy, professional telephone communication and the ability to follow defined quality and safety processes.

HIGHLY VALUED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Professional Cantonese proficiency, particularly for healthcare or medical communication. Applicants without Cantonese are fully eligible.
  • Prior experience in Medical Information, pharmacovigilance, pharmacy, nursing, pharmaceutical customer support or medical/scientific translation.
  • Experience supporting Mainland China healthcare or pharmaceutical stakeholders and familiarity with adverse event reporting or medical enquiry systems.
