Rohrer is looking for a Market Development Manager to lead our business development efforts across Home & Commercial, Home & Business, Household Goods, Personal Care, and other priority markets.
In this role, you’ll design and run segment-based prospecting programs, coach a team of sales professionals, and roll up your sleeves to prospect and grow a portfolio of accounts yourself. You’ll own our annual new business goal and work closely with commercial leaders, marketing, and cross-functional teams to build a consistent pipeline of new customers.
What You'll Do
Build and lead our prospecting programs
- Design segment-based prospecting programs, complete with target lists, playbooks, and multi-touch outreach cadences across phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person channels.
- Coach and lead a prospecting group of about seven sales team members by setting activity and pipeline expectations, running pipeline reviews, and holding the group accountable to results. (This is a leadership role without direct reports.)
- Set and report on prospecting KPIs, including activity, meetings set, opportunities created, conversion rates, and new business won, and use the data to sharpen cadences and coaching.
Prospect and sell
- Research and qualify new customers, markets, and opportunities aligned with Rohrer’s growth strategy.
- Model field prospecting through store checks, networking, trade shows, and industry events, and teach these methods to the team.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 40 smaller accounts, finding expansion and cross-selling opportunities.
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and business reviews, and help transition new accounts smoothly to commercial and operations teams.
- Keep prospect, customer, and pipeline information accurate and current in our CRM.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, including at least 2 years building prospecting programs or coaching a sales or BD team.
- A proven track record of creating prospecting cadences that generated measurable pipeline and revenue.
- Hands-on experience with sales engagement tools such as CRM sequences and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, plus the ability to turn data into action.
- The self-motivation to thrive in a remote, field-based role, with willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or consumer products preferred.
What We Offer
- Support and guidance from experienced sales professionals.
- Career growth and advancement opportunities.
- Competitive compensation.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings options.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- A collaborative, safety-focused work environment.
