The Market Director, reporting directly to the GM/VP of the Renewables business unit, is responsible for translating Ulteig’s enterprise and Renewables strategies into clear market, client, and growth priorities. This leader will help determine where the business should invest and what capabilities are needed to support its future.
The Market Director leads the Renewables market organization and is accountable for market strategy, client portfolio direction, business development performance, and team development. Working closely with the GM/VP, operational leaders, the Chief Commercial Office, Strategy, and leaders across other Ulteig business units, this leader will connect client needs with Ulteig’s capabilities, anticipate where clients and the market are headed, and position the business for long-term growth.
The role requires balancing near-term demand with client value, delivery capacity, commercial discipline, and future capability needs. As the business continues to grow, the Market Director will lead, coach, and develop the market team while creating a culture of engagement, collaboration, and accountability.
As a key member of the Ulteig Leadership Team, the Market Director contributes to the development of enterprise strategic plans, initiatives, and implementation plans. This leader ensures Ulteig is well-positioned with clients and across the Renewables Lifeline Sector (LLS), serves as a thought leader in the renewable energy industry, and brings significant renewable-market, business, sales, and consulting experience.

- Partner with the GM/VP and Renewables Leadership Team to develop and execute market strategies and the Renewables operating plan.
- Work with Strategy, the Chief Commercial Office, and other key partners to evaluate and advance emerging markets, services, strategic partnerships, and client opportunities.
- Partner with Ulteig’s Intelligence team, sharing client and market insights while leveraging policy, regulatory, competitive, and industry intelligence to inform business strategy and market direction.
Clients & Market Leadership
- Lead market development across existing and prospective clients, strengthening Ulteig’s position and relationships across the Renewables LLS.
- Develop and guide client portfolio and account strategies, maintaining focus on the clients and opportunities most important to the business.
- Maintain strong relationships and visibility across the renewable energy industry to strengthen Ulteig’s network, awareness, and market position.
- Represent Ulteig as a thought leader with clients, industry partners, and the broader renewable energy market.
Business Development & Commercial Performance
- Establish and drive performance against business development goals, including pipeline, orders, client experience, and the business development budget.
- Provide direction and coaching to Market Leaders, Inside Sales, and seller-doers responsible for client relationships, pipeline, and business development.
- Provide strategic direction on major pursuits, including opportunity qualification, positioning, client strategy, and pursuit decisions.
- Champion a consultative approach, working across Ulteig to bring the right services, expertise, and solutions together around client needs and support successful pursuits.
- Partner with the GM/VP and appropriate Ulteig leaders on significant commercial negotiations, including Master Service Agreements.
Leadership & Business Alignment
- Lead and develop the market-facing team, strengthening individual capability, accountability, and leadership depth as the business grows.
- Work closely with operational leaders to align pipeline and market demand with delivery capacity, talent needs, and business priorities.
- Collaborate across Ulteig business units when client needs or market opportunities extend beyond Renewables.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to strengthen Ulteig’s market presence and ensure content and communication channels support market, client, and growth priorities.
- Coordinate with Proposals, Accounting, Legal, Project Management, and other teams to support client and business development priorities.
- Use data, technology, and AI to improve client planning, business development effectiveness, and decision-making.
