Finance Lobby is hiring one person to own our marketing communications end-to-end: the content calendar, the tone of voice, the emails, the newsletters, the social media, the CEO's LinkedIn, the blog, the lifecycle copy, the PR, the tradeshows and events, the creatives and everything that represents our brand.
Full-time and exclusive · 40+ hours a week · Fully remote (anywhere in the world) · working US Eastern hours · Contract-to-hire
Company Description:
WHO WE ARE
Finance Lobby (financelobby.com) is a US commercial real estate financing platform, in market since 2020 and headquartered in Miami. Brokers and borrowers post a deal once; qualified lenders compete to fund it. Thousands of lenders are on the platform.
In mid-2026 we launched self-serve subscription plans, and that turned the company into a product-led-growth business. For the first time, our growth depends on marketing actually working rather than on a sales team carrying every deal over the line. We have the product, the liquidity and the proprietary data. What we need now is market position: a voice the industry recognizes, a point of view lenders want to read, and a communications engine that runs whether or not anyone is watching.
We are a small, agile team, AI-native inside and out. The Head of Marketing and the CEO are both hands-on, and the pace is a startup's pace. This is not a content-production role and not a support role. You are in the driver's seat.
Role Description
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
You will own how a US commercial real estate financing platform is understood by its market.
- The brand and the story — positioning, messaging across 2–3 very different audiences, our claims, our tone. When the brand drifts, you notice first.
- Thought leadership and original research — turning our proprietary data on how CRE deals actually get financed into a flagship quarterly report, data-led commentary and bylines.
- The executive voice — LinkedIn, bylines, speaking abstracts and podcast pitches for our CEO, at a standard he publishes without rewriting.
- Earned media and industry relations — CRE trade press, podcasts, associations, partner co-marketing. Today this is close to zero; all of it is upside.
- Owned channels as one system — a three-edition industry newsletter, product communications, the blog, the website's words, social and video, run on one calendar with one point of view.
- Search and AI visibility — SEO plus being the answer when a broker asks an AI assistant how to structure a bridge loan.
- Lifecycle and campaign communications — onboarding, activation, nurture, re-engagement and upgrade. You write them, brief the build, QA them before they go live, and measure whether they moved anything.
- Go-to-market for every launch — positioning, naming, the launch plan and sales enablement.
- Campaign strategy — you set the priorities our paid-media manager executes against; the strategy, the creative and the readout are yours.
- Customer proof, events and partnerships — case studies, G2 reviews, the CRE conference calendar and co-marketing.
- Measurement — weekly readouts a CEO can read in three minutes and act on. You own the numbers on your own work, including when they disappoint.
Nothing on that list belongs to someone else. Where you need hands, you have them: a paid-media consultant, an automations lead who builds and sends what you spec, developers, and budget for specialist freelancers. You instruct them; you are not waiting on them.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
Days 1–30 » Take the wheel. Audit, publish the calendar, take over content and product communications and miss nothing. Write down our voice. Ship the quarterly industry report. Deliver your first four weekly readouts.
Days 31–60 » Set the position. A messaging architecture for both sides of the marketplace, a content engine on a real cadence, first earned-media pitches out, lifecycle sequences rebuilt around activation.
Days 61–90 » Compound. Measured lifts you can point at, the next report outlined, a public bench beyond the CEO, and a marketing function that runs on a documented rhythm instead of heroics.
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE
- 3+ years in marketing communications, at least one as the owner of communications at a start-up company under 50 people — no agency behind you, nobody handing you briefs.
- Hands-on experience in B2B or SaaS in the last five years is beneficial. Preferable at a US commercial real estate company, lender, brokerage, PropTech, CRE media or FinTech startup.
- Background in strategic communications, with the ability to craft positioning, narratives, and key messages that support business objectives and differentiate the brand.
- You have ghost-written under a C-Level executive, CEO or founder's name and had it published unedited.
- You have owned a content editorial calendar, and you have a portfolio to show for it.
- You think in click-to-open, impressions and activation, and you will tell a CEO which metric to stop looking at.
- Experience in content creation, including developing integrated campaigns, creating marketing content, and aligning messaging with brand and product strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize multiple projects, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including managing timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering communication initiatives on schedule.
- AI-fluent in practice: you have built a workflow (context files, prompts, a human edit layer) and can say exactly when the model was wrong and what you never let it do.
- Language: Fluent, idiomatic American English at a level a CEO publishes first pass.
Strong plus: two-sided marketplace (supply vs. demand) or PLG experience; original research you shipped; earned placements you landed yourself; Canva/Figma; Ahrefs, Search Atlas or Semrush; ActiveCampaign, Salesforce, HubSpot or another CRM / marketing-automation platform; Webflow-level web skills.
NOT FOR YOU IF...
❌ You are an agency, or you plan to subcontract any of the work.
❌ You hold another job or keep a freelance practice alongside — this role is exclusive.
❌ You are looking for part-time or flexible hours.
❌ Your portfolio has no numbers in it.
❌ "Familiar with AI tools" is the most specific thing you can say about AI.
