Job Specification: Marketing & Design Executive

Company: Lios

Department: Marketing & Communications

Reports To: Head of Communications and Marketing

Location: Hybrid / Dublin City Centre

Employment Type: Full-Time

Company Overview

Join us at Lios – creators of a breakthrough material transforming noise reduction. We’re building a quieter, greener future by rethinking how sound is managed across industries. Backed by over a decade of acoustic research, our team is scaling a sustainable material with real world impact — from aerospace to home appliances. We’re expanding our team as we go to market.

If you’re curious, driven, and excited by science with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Summary

As we expand our team and go to market, we are looking for a scientifically minded, visually creative Marketing & Design Executive to support our marketing function. In this role, you will help execute our overarching communications and dissemination strategy by translating our complex acoustic and material science breakthroughs into compelling, commercially viable, and beautifully designed narratives.

Working within the marketing team, you will target B2B markets (automotive, aerospace, construction, home appliances, marine, and more) to support launching our acoustic products to market. You will take hands-on ownership of our visual assets and digital execution, using your design skills and marketing automation expertise to create high-quality assets for both print and digital, shaping campaigns that land with the right decision-makers.

Key ResponsibilitiesVisual Design and Scientific Storytelling (Primary Focus)
  • Asset Production: Design and format high-quality B2B marketing collateral using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, including brochures, one-pagers, case studies, and technical data sheets.
  • Scientific Storytelling: Translate complex acoustic, physical, and engineering concepts into clear, beautiful, and accessible marketing materials without losing technical accuracy.
  • Brand Consistency: Work closely with the Head of Marketing to safeguard and evolve the Lios brand, ensuring a consistent tone, design, and premium look across all touchpoints.
  • Content Capture: Capture photos and footage in the office, at tradeshows and events, and turn it into engaging content across our marketing channels.

Digital Execution and Campaign Support (Trainable on the Job)
  • HubSpot and Campaigns: Build, manage, and optimise multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns, landing pages, and email sequences directly within HubSpot.
  • Website & Social Maintenance: Support on day-to-day updates to the Lios website via WordPress, LinkedIn page, and content calendar.
  • Event Support: Design physical collateral (booth backdrops, printed brochures) and help coordinate logistics for industry events and commercial trade shows.
  • Analytics & Optimisation: Monitor campaign analytics alongside the Head of Marketing to refine our approach.

Experience & Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, or science communication.
  • Strong visual design background with layout experience (InDesign) and vector graphics skills (Illustrator).
  • Strong scientific literacy, with a genuine curiosity for physics, material science, or engineering concepts.
  • Adaptable, organised, and excited to work in a fast-paced, hands-on startup environment.

We understand that not every candidate will have this complete set of skills. If you meet 50% or more of these criteria (especially if you have a strong design and content background) we encourage you to apply! Demonstrating a track record of learning new tools quickly is just as important to us as the skills you already have. We will provide thorough onboarding and training on our internal systems and marketing automation tools.

What We Offer

At Lios, we believe people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and inspired. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:

  • Competitive salary, with equity options for key hires
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working — two days at home, three days in the office
  • 25 days annual leave (pro-rata) + public holidays
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave benefit
  • Enhanced leave and support for parents
  • Comfortable, relaxed office in Dublin city centre
  • Bike to Work Scheme and Travel Saver programme
  • Opportunities to shape how we grow — we’re a small team where every voice counts.
