Marketing Manager Location: Remote. We prefer Africa, Europe, or Latin America timezones, with reliable daily overlap with US Eastern. About Checker Checker is the market access network for financial institutions. More markets. More products. One connection. Banks, payment service providers, remittance companies, and FX brokers connect to us once and use that connection to reach markets they could not serve before and to launch products they could not build alone. We handle the infrastructure underneath: accounts, liquidity, local settlement, corridor coverage, and the compliance work that makes each of those things approvable. We processed more than $3 billion in the twelve months to May 2026, and we did the bulk of that with a team of four. We now have 15+ people across engineering, sales, and operations. Our customers include large traditional banks in London, South Africa, and Brazil, alongside PSPs and fintechs across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. We came out of stealth a few months ago, and this is the first year the market has known our name. We are a global-first company. Our founders sit in the United States while our team spans across Africa, Latin America, and Europe. We come from trading, treasury, operations, and engineering, out of Wall Street hedge funds, large financial institutions, and infrastructure startups. The Opportunity We are hiring our first Head of Marketing. You will own every marketing discipline at Checker: positioning, content, demand, partner marketing, field and events, PR, and sales enablement. You will report to the CEO and work with him closely, and your job is to take this off his desk rather than to wait for his brief. The strategic problem is category definition. We win almost all of our deals against no incumbent, which means we are not taking budget from a competitor, we are creating it. That is a strong position and it comes with a specific cost: everyone selling stablecoin infrastructure uses the same eight words, so buyers arrive at the first call asking which of the familiar names we resemble. Your job is to make sure a prospect walks into the room already knowing what Checker is and what problem we solve, before anyone opens a deck. The founder owns the narrative and will keep owning it. That is deliberate and it will not change. What we need is someone who can take the position out of his head, sharpen it, turn it into a system that runs without him, and hold the entire company to saying the same thing. If you want to build the machine that makes one story land in eighty markets, it is the right one. You will start as an individual contributor with budget for freelancers and agencies, and you will hire specialists and full-time staff as the function earns them. What You’ll Own Category and messaging. Define the category rather than describe the product. Own the message, the definitions, and the vocabulary the whole company uses. In your first week you will run a deep edit of everything we currently say and tell us where it is thin. The artifact engine. We publish one serious piece of work a month, the kind of thing a bank executive forwards to a colleague, and we break each one into posts, clips, webinars, and sales assets. You own that engine end to end. Regional payments research, corridor explainers, and regulatory primers are the raw material, and our position on B2B payments to China is the sharpest example of what this looks like when it works. Account based marketing. We run two motions. The wide one is content, brand, and being present everywhere our buyers are, which drives inbound. The narrow one is named accounts by region, built with the sales leads for Africa, Latin America, Brazil, and Europe. You own scoring, sequencing, campaign design, and the gestures that move enterprise deals forward, including gifting and executive programs. Partner and network marketing. We just launched the Checker Network Program, which bundles providers who share our ICP and specialize in different parts of the stack. You will run co-announcements, joint content, shared events, and the give-and-get with every partner. Events and field. We attend and co-host side events, roundtables, and dinners at the conferences our buyers attend. You own the calendar, the pre and post programs, and the case for what each one returned. Sales enablement. Decks, talk tracks, objection cards, implementation guides, and customer stories. Answer the buyer's question on the website before they have to ask it on a call. Internal alignment. Marketing is the connective tissue between engineering, product, sales, and leadership. You will hold a standing rhythm with each function so that launches get planned in advance rather than handed to you two days out. PR and comms. Coordinate earned coverage and agencies, and protect the standard of what we put our name on. What we're looking for 7–10 years in B2B marketing, with meaningful time operating in LATAM fintech, payments, or adjacent infrastructure Comfortable starting from first principles, creating clarity, and shipping programs solo before scaling You are half strategist and half operator. You will set the strategy and then you will write the copy, brief the designer, and load the campaign yourself. Nobody here will hand you a brief. Strong grasp of ABM and how marketing fuels enterprise deals; you set KPIs and own outcomes Can translate technical concepts (stablecoins, on-chain payments, APIs, compliance) into clear value for executives and product leaders Full professional proficiency in Spanish; Portuguese strongly preferred. Strong written skills for localization Practical fluency with CRM/marketing automation, analytics, and AI content/translation workflows What We Offer Competitive compensation Flexible remote work arrangement Travel to global team gatherings and industry events Direct work with the founders, and the budget and authority to build the function the way you think it should be built
