Marketing Manager, SportsKey

Sandyford, Dublin 18 (hybrid) · Full-time, permanent · €60,000 to €70,000

Do you have a passion for sport?

Sport changes lives. SportsKey is the software that keeps sports facilities booked, paid for and running, for venues, schools, councils and clubs, mainly across Ireland, the UK and the US.

Running a sports facility still means too much admin: bookings by phone and email, payments to chase, and a calendar that lives in one person's head. We take that away, so the people who run venues can get on with getting people playing. We intend to be the name every venue knows for it.

We're investing to get there. We've built a full platform, from bookings and scheduling to leagues, payments and access control. We've strengthened our leadership team. We have a clear plan for growth in three markets. Now we're making our first marketing hire.

Build marketing at SportsKey from the ground up

This is the first marketing role in the company. You won't inherit a department; you'll define one. What marketing does here, how it works with sales and customer success, how we measure it and how it grows will all be shaped by you. You'll own all of SportsKey's marketing: paid, owned, earned and social.

• Get close to customers. Start by listening: on sales and customer calls, and to venues that don't use us yet, and bring what you learn back to the team

• Own our story and our brand. Turn who we are into messages venues recognise as their own, and a distinctive brand used the same way everywhere

• Make us known and trusted. Reviews, customer stories, press, opinion pieces, events and awards, and the content that goes with them

• Make us easy to find and buy. Search, AI answers and the website, with our performance marketing agency delivering for you, and the materials and tender responses that help our sales team win deals

• Make us worth more to every venue. Help customers get more from SportsKey and add to what they use

• Make us worth staying with, and recommending. Work with Customer Success so customers stay longer and tell others about us

• Measure what matters. Build our marketing scorecard, and show what marketing delivers in each market

Real ownership, close to the top

Our marketing strategy is set. Your job is to make it happen, your way. You'll turn it into a plan, agree the priorities, run our performance marketing agency and the budget, decide what goes out and when, and make sure everything we say about SportsKey is accurate.

You'll report to Hugh, our VP of Sales, who sits on our leadership team. You'll work closely with Craig, our founder and CEO, and you'll present marketing's results to the leadership team every month. It's a role close to the decisions.

Room to make it your own

We know where we want to go. How we get there is yours to shape: the PR ideas, the opinion pieces, the events and webinars, the content and the creative. You'll get hands-on and make a lot of it yourself: the social posts, the graphics, the short videos. This is a role for someone who'd rather out-think the competition than outspend it. We want someone who brings ideas, backs them and puts their stamp on our marketing. You'll test ideas, keep what works and share what you learn.

What success looks like

A year from now, more venues come to us already convinced, because a customer recommended us, they read about us, they saw us speak or AI pointed them our way. SportsKey is on the shortlist wherever buyers look, more of our customers are telling others about us, and the marketing function you built is helping the business grow, with the results to show for it.

You'll bring

• Four or more years in marketing, with at least two in B2B software

• A track record of running marketing that grew pipeline, not just traffic

• Experience briefing and managing an agency, and holding it to results

• Reviews, customer stories, press or events you've made happen

• Hands-on knowledge of websites, SEO and paid search, and of tracking marketing through to pipeline in a CRM

• Confident setting up marketing reporting and presenting results to senior people

• The drive to get things done yourself, and the judgement to decide what matters most

• Happy making content yourself: social posts, simple graphics and short videos, to brand guidelines, using tools such as Canva. Video editing or motion graphics, or a willingness to learn, would be welcome

• Experience of marketing across Ireland, the UK and the US, or in industry-specific software, would be a real advantage. A love of sport helps too
