Marketing Publication Date Tracker

Office Administration · Marketing Scheduling · Remote
Full-time or part-time | £26.25–£28.25 per hour

Know what is planned, approved and already live

The Marketing Publication Date Tracker helps a team keep a clear schedule for approved online content. A short announcement may be drafted for one date, moved to another while awaiting approval and eventually appear on a website or an approved channel.

You would maintain the tracking record as those changes are confirmed. This remote office administration role is about visibility and accurate dates, not writing campaigns or deciding when the organisation should speak to its audience.

The task begins with an instruction from someone responsible for the content. You would identify the item by its title or reference, check its current status and record the approved target date. If the item is delayed, you would update the tracker after the team confirms the new plan. You would not change a publication date because a deadline seems inconvenient, nor would you mark an item live simply because its scheduled date has passed. A real check of the published location or a confirmation from the responsible colleague is needed.

Why status matters alongside a date

A date alone can mislead. ‘Planned for Thursday’ is different from ‘approved for Thursday’, and neither confirms that the item was actually published. The tracking record should separate those states. A colleague preparing a customer service response may rely on the same information to know whether they can point someone to a public page. If the tracker claims an article is live but the page is still pending approval, the response can send a person to a dead end.

You may receive updates through email, an online task board or a content calendar. Your job is to connect each update to the correct item rather than creating a new row every time someone changes a date. When two messages disagree, you would ask the content owner which instruction is current. If a post appears online earlier than expected, note what you observed and seek confirmation before altering the plan. The tracking system should tell the team what happened, not hide the difference between the plan and the result.

A tracking entry may need:

  • A clear title or reference for the content item.
  • The approved or provisional target date, identified as such.
  • The person or team responsible for the next decision.
  • A status that distinguishes draft, awaiting approval, scheduled and published.
  • The public link when a publication has been verified.
  • A short explanation of a confirmed date change.
  • A pending question when the instruction is incomplete.

The role is administrative, so you would not measure campaign performance, choose a headline or take ownership of a publishing account unless that is part of a separately confirmed opening. The employer will teach its calendar and status terms. You should be willing to check the record before responding to a colleague, and to avoid saying ‘published’ when you only know that an item was scheduled. That factual precision is more useful than a beautifully coloured calendar.

Previous marketing support, scheduling or office administrative experience would be helpful, but it is not required. We welcome applicants with little experience who can follow a written update, distinguish a plan from a completed action and use a simple online spreadsheet or task board. Organising a course timetable, event notice or small group project may have taught similar habits. The employer will provide training on its workflow; you need not know a specialist content platform beforehand.

The work can be performed remotely on a full-time or part-time basis. A home office area suited to quiet computer work helps when comparing dates across messages and a shared tracker. Pay is £26.25–£28.25 per hour. The team will explain who approves publication and how a live item is verified.

Your next step

On your CV, draw attention to any scheduling record, update log or shared calendar you have maintained. It is fine if the subject was not marketing. Accuracy with dates and status is the skill this role uses most often. If you’re selected for the next step, you may be asked to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. That later stage, if requested, is part of the employer’s own application process.
