Mechanical Engineer

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will support the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems used in energy-related applications. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing mechanical designs, creating and updating CAD models and drawings, and performing basic calculations and simulations to ensure performance and safety. The role involves collaborating with project teams, contributing to research and development activities, preparing technical documentation, and assisting in project planning and coordination. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to refine concepts, address technical issues, and help drive projects to completion within defined timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including mechanics, materials, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with Machine Design, including component selection, sizing, and reliability considerations.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
• Ability to contribute to Project Management activities such as scheduling, task tracking, and coordination.
• Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, testing, and documenting results.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Comfort working independently in a remote environment and communicating clearly with distributed teams.
• Familiarity with energy systems, renewable energy technologies, or sustainability-focused projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, safety practices, and basic engineering software (e.g., simulation or analysis tools) is beneficial.
