Senior Media Buyer (Paid Social)
Company Overview
A UK-based digital media company that builds high-intent web brands across finance, payments, and B2B services. The company combines research, performance marketing, and transparent comparisons to connect customers with relevant products and providers. It values ownership, data-driven decisions, experimentation, and sustainable growth.
Mission
We're hiring a Senior Media Buyer to build and scale Meta acquisition from scratch, starting with UK business finance lead generation. This is a pure direct-response role focused on profitable growth, qualified leads, and measurable commercial outcomes.
You'll own campaign strategy, technical tracking, AI-powered creative production, and performance optimization. You'll also design the specifications for an AI creative and testing engine that a developer will build, with the opportunity to help scale the paid media function as the business grows.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage Meta (Facebook and Instagram) campaigns from scratch, including account structure, audience targeting, retargeting, lookalikes, placements, and budget allocation.
- Implement and troubleshoot Meta Pixel, Conversions API (CAPI), event tracking, deduplication, and offline conversion imports.
- Optimize for lead quality and profitability, tracking CPL, cost per qualified lead (CPQL), cost per funded deal, and lead distribution.
- Produce all ad creatives independently using AI video and image tools such as Veo, Kling, and CapCut; develop direct-response copy, hooks, angles, and formats.
- Design structured A/B testing frameworks for creatives, audiences, placements, and offers, documenting results and learnings.
- Specify how an AI creative engine should generate, launch, name, track, evaluate, and iterate on ad variations, working with a developer to implement it.
- Build performance dashboards and use data to guide daily budget decisions, scaling, creative rotation, and campaign optimization.
- Use Meta automated rules and the Marketing API to support campaign guardrails and high-volume testing.
- Analyze attribution and tracking through GA4, GTM, and relevant CRM integrations; improve landing pages and lead forms where needed.
- Apply successful strategies to new verticals, report actionable insights, and recommend when additional creative or media buying support is needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on paid social experience, including 2+ years managing annual budgets of £250,000 or more.
- Expert-level Meta Ads Manager skills and experience building and scaling direct-response lead generation campaigns.
- Strong technical expertise in Meta Pixel, CAPI, event tracking, deduplication, and offline conversion tracking.
- Advanced audience targeting, retargeting, lookalikes, campaign architecture, budget optimization, and structured creative testing.
- Understanding of Meta Andromeda and AI-driven ad delivery.
- Working knowledge of Meta automated rules and the Marketing API, with the ability to write clear technical specifications for developers.
- Hands-on proficiency in AI-powered video/image tools and strong direct-response copywriting skills.
- Proven analytical skills covering CPL, qualified leads, conversion performance, attribution, and profitability.
- Experience with TikTok Ads and native advertising platforms such as Taboola or Outbrain.
- Excellent written and verbal English, strong ownership, and the ability to work independently.
- A builder mindset: comfortable establishing systems from zero, testing rapidly, solving problems proactively, and improving performance continuously.
Nice to Have
- Business finance or consumer finance lead generation experience; UK market knowledge is a plus.
- GA4, GTM, attribution analysis, CRO, and landing-page or lead-form optimization.
- CRM integrations, lead tracking, nurturing workflows, and creative automation systems.
- Experience briefing UGC creators or developing creator-led ad concepts.
Technical Requirements
- Own PC or laptop, reliable high-speed internet (wired recommended), noise-cancelling headset, and a quiet workspace.
- Proficiency with Meta Business Manager, Ads Manager, Events Manager, and AI creative tools.
- Ability to configure tracking, offline conversion imports, and relevant integrations.
