Role Description


Medical Students Volunteers at FutureVitals support health equity projects through a mix of in-person and remote activities in Lagos State, Nigeria (hybrid role).


Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting with health education campaigns, creating or reviewing learning materials, and participating in community outreach events. Volunteers may help organize workshops, contribute to advocacy initiatives, and engage with local partners to promote preventive health and awareness.


Additional tasks can include basic research support, data collection for community projects, and providing input on youth-centered program design. This is a volunteer role that offers opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and practical exposure to public health and health advocacy.


Qualifications

  • Current enrollment as a medical student or recent graduate with a strong interest in public health, health equity, or community medicine.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences, including patients, community members, and youth groups, both in-person and online.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to balance volunteer responsibilities alongside academic commitments.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid setting, including attending occasional in-person meetings or events in Lagos State and completing tasks remotely.
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service, social impact, or advocacy, especially in healthcare or related fields.
  • Collaborative mindset, respect for different backgrounds and perspectives, and willingness to learn from peers and mentors.
  • Basic familiarity with digital tools (e.g., email, document sharing, virtual meeting platforms) to support coordination and communication.
  • Prior experience with community outreach, health education, or student organizations is an advantage but not required.
