About Us

For over 30 years, Magentus has been at the forefront of transforming healthcare through technology across Australia and the UK. From pathology and radiology to oncology, and practice management, our solutions connect the healthcare ecosystem and unlock better patient outcomes at scale.

At Magentus, people are at the heart of everything we do. We work as one team, united by our purpose: to create a healthier society through smarter digital healthcare.

The Role

The Clinical Application Specialist / Trainer plays a key role in ensuring successful deployment, optimisation, and adoption of Magentus products across customer sites. This role is primarily focused on application expertise, workflow consultation, customer support during deployments, and continuous improvement, while also delivering concise training to support product adoption.

You will work closely with Project, Product, Development, Sales, and Support teams to ensure customers gain maximum value from Magentus solutions. Your responsibilities span the full deployment lifecycle, from configuration and testing through to go‑live and post‑implementation support.

Please note, this is a 6 month fixed term contract role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with Project Teams to support the deployment of Evolution vLab for new and existing customers, including workflow mapping, configuration, system validation, and user acceptance testing.

  • Translate clinical and operational workflows into effective system setups that improve departmental productivity.

  • Review software releases, interpret technical updates, and help translate them into practical customer guidance and documentation.

  • Contribute to continuous service improvement by identifying enhancements, feeding back to Product teams, and supporting development of improved solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong internal and customer relationships, ensuring clear communication and effective management of expectations during deployments.

  • Deliver product training in a streamlined set of formats: Train‑the‑Trainer, end‑user training, or internal knowledge sessions.

  • Facilitate both on‑site and virtual training sessions (e.g., MS Teams) as required for implementations.

  • Create or update essential training documents, quick reference guides, or short reports linked to delivery.

  • Support development of blended learning materials by storyboarding content and assisting with eLearning updates where needed.

This role requires frequent customer site visits and overnight stays.

What experience do I need

  • Experience working within microbiology, with a strong understanding of laboratory workflows, processes and terminology.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in: Healthcare, Pathology, Health Informatics, IT, or related fields relevant to discipline.

  • Strong IT literacy and confidence with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, MS Teams).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for varied audiences.

  • Proven ability to analyse workflows, solve problems, and advise customers on system functionality.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and constructive when working in fast paced or change focused environments.
