Mid-level Artist - Architectural Visualisation About Us For over two decades, The Boundary has been at the forefront of digital excellence. With a global team of 150+ experts across London, New York, Dubai, and Auckland, we partner with the world's leading developers to deliver unparalleled architectural storytelling. Founded by award-winning architects, our work sits at the intersection of design intuition and technical mastery. From pioneering digital twin infrastructure to the seamless integration of AI and real-time technology, we don’t just anticipate the future of the industry; we are already building it. The Opportunity You know that feeling when a scene finally clicks? The composition settles, the light does exactly what it needs to do, and the image becomes more than a technically accurate model. It becomes a place people can believe in. For over two decades, we've been making images of places that don't exist yet - and making people feel them. Stills, films, VR experiences. Work that helps architects, developers and brands turn an idea into something people understand, remember and want to be part of. That's the standard. That's what keeps us interested. We're a studio of artists, directors, technical pioneers and obsessives. People who care about the fall of light at 4pm. Or whether a material feels touched by real life. Or the fine line between an image that's polished and one that's genuinely convincing. What we're really looking for We need someone who's moved beyond the basics and is ready to own their part of the work. You can take a brief, drawings and references and turn them into a strong visual response. You understand composition, light, materials and atmosphere - and you know that technical skill only matters when it serves the story. You can work with minimal supervision, manage a project component from setup through delivery and spot problems before they become blockers. You know when to solve something yourself and when asking the right question will move the whole team forward faster. You're comfortable with feedback because you know it makes the work better. And you're beginning to give useful feedback too - sharing what you know with junior artists without ego or fuss. You're reliable when timelines tighten and priorities shift. You stay organised, communicate clearly and keep the quality high without losing sight of the deadline. What You'll Do Create work with impact. You'll deliver high-quality architectural visualisation across stills, animation and VR, translating creative direction and technical information into images that feel clear, compelling and real. Own your part of the project. You'll independently manage assigned scenes, sequences or project components - planning your time, tracking milestones and taking the work through review to final delivery. Solve the problems in front of you. You'll identify and resolve technical and creative issues efficiently, self-check your work and escalate early when a decision or extra support is needed. Keep everyone connected. You'll work closely with senior leads, project managers, artists, clients and external partners, communicating progress, blockers and handovers clearly. Make the team stronger. You'll support junior artists and interns, share techniques and pipeline knowledge, and contribute thoughtful feedback in critiques and peer reviews. Protect the process. You'll maintain clean files and scenes, follow best-practice workflows and help improve consistency across the production pipeline. What You'll Bring A portfolio that shows your judgement. Not just polished images, but work that demonstrates composition, light, materials, atmosphere and your ability to translate a brief into a visual story. Proven production experience. You'll have delivered work for 3D environments and understand the end-to-end CGI workflow well enough to manage your own tasks and support others. Strong technical skills. A confident working knowledge of Autodesk 3ds Max, Corona Renderer and Adobe Creative Cloud, along with the general technical fluency to learn new tools as projects evolve. Independent thinking. You can work through complex tasks with minimal supervision, anticipate issues and turn difficult projects into useful learning. Clear communication. You can explain progress, decisions and technical concepts to colleagues, clients and external stakeholders - and adapt your approach to the person in front of you. Leadership without the title. You're happy to guide junior artists, share what you know and help a small team deliver under the direction of senior leads. That thing you can't teach. You care about the work, the people around you and getting the details right. It matters to you. What we'll give you The setup to do your best work. Clear creative direction, capable production support and experienced senior artists and leads who share your standards. More ownership. Real responsibility for meaningful parts of ambitious projects, with the backing to make decisions, solve problems and see your work through. Support to evolve. Space to deepen your craft, test better approaches and build the creative and leadership skills that will take you to the next level. Open conversations. Kind, specific feedback and fast decisions that keep the work moving and help you keep improving. A global creative community. Access to brilliant people across our studios, bringing different perspectives, specialist skills and new ways of working. Trust. You'll have autonomy over your work, accountability for the outcome and support when you need it. Department Production (Visualisation Artists) Role Mid Artist Locations Porto Remote status Hybrid
