About the Role HouseIQ is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with 3–5 years of professional experience who enjoys working across the entire technology stack — frontend, backend, and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will build customer-facing features, backend services, and AI-powered functionality while collaborating closely with Product, Design, Frontend, and AI teams in a startup environment. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership from day one, and is excited about building products from 0 to 1. You will work directly with the engineering lead, contributing to engineering best practices and growing your skillset across the full stack. This is not a role where you will be handed perfectly defined tickets — you will help define the work. Responsibilities Develop and maintain customer-facing web applications using React and Next.js Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services using Python, Node.js (TypeScript), or Go Integrate frontend applications with backend services and third-party APIs Work with relational databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications within AWS cloud environments Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and internal engineering tooling Build and integrate AI-powered and LLM-driven product features Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, and defining engineering best practices Own projects from design through deployment and production support Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Frontend, and AI teams throughout the development lifecycle Required Qualifications 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience Startup experience — comfortable working with ambiguity and minimal process Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript Production experience with React and Next.js Backend development experience with Python, Node.js (TypeScript), or Go — this is a requirement, not optional Fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms Experience designing and consuming REST APIs Strong SQL skills with relational databases Familiarity with AWS cloud — deployment, monitoring, and operations Strong English communication skills Comfortable working Eastern Time Zone hours — daily standup at 11:00 AM New York time Preferred Qualifications Experience with Next.js App Router, SSG, and ISR Experience with TanStack Query and Chakra UI React Native or mobile development experience PostgreSQL, Redis, or vector databases Docker and containerized applications Terraform or Infrastructure as Code CI/CD pipeline implementation and production operations Experience developing AI or LLM-powered applications Ideal Candidate Enjoys owning projects from concept through production Uses AI development tools as part of their daily workflow Thinks critically and asks good questions before implementing solutions Values clean, maintainable, and simple engineering solutions Excited about building AI-first products from 0 to 1 within a startup environment Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working across engineering disciplines Tech Stack React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, Go, AWS, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, AI / LLM Integration Why Join HouseIQ?
