Job Responsibilities:

Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal GCP Migration / Delivery Lead to drive and oversee large-scale cloud migration initiatives within our organization. This pivotal role is instrumental in leading the end-to-end migration of critical workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring seamless delivery, minimizing risks, and maximizing business value. The successful candidate will act as a strategic leader, collaborating across multiple teams to architect, plan, and execute complex migration projects, thereby enabling our organization’s cloud transformation journey and enhancing operational efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of enterprise-wide migration projects to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery, managing timelines, resources, risks, and quality to ensure successful project completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, security, and business stakeholders to define migration strategies and roadmaps.
• Develop and implement best practices, frameworks, and standards for cloud migration and delivery processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to migration teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Manage stakeholder communications, reporting progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership and clients.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Drive automation and optimization initiatives to improve migration efficiency and post-migration operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements throughout the migration lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in cloud migration projects, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven track record of leading complex cloud migration or delivery projects in a Principal or Lead capacity.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
• Strong project management skills with experience using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Tools and Technologies:

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud SQL.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is preferred not required.
• CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Cloud Build.
• Monitoring and logging tools including Stackdriver, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
