Lyceum College invites applications from academically strong and professionally experienced individuals to serve as Module Leaders within the Faculty of Humanities. This role is central to the academic integrity, quality and delivery of the modules offered across our Humanities programmes. Module Leaders oversee the full academic lifecycle of a module, including curriculum oversight, assessment design, teaching, marking, student support, and ongoing module improvement. They ensure that all academic activities align with institutional quality standards and regulatory expectations relevant to private higher education. This opportunity is ideal for committed academics and industry experts who are passionate about contributing to high-quality distance learning. Module Leaders are considered internal academic staff of the College, even when appointed as sessional or independent contractors. The role requires strict alignment with institutional quality assurance policies, regulatory standards, and Lyceum’s academic governance framework. Teaching and Assessment Areas (Thematic Clusters) We are recruiting Module Leaders in the following areas: 1. Criminal Justice and Policing Sciences Policing Practice Criminal Justice Metropolitan and Traffic Policing Criminology Crime Prevention Strategies Police Ethics, Professional Conduct and Liability Community Policing Supervisory Practice for Law Enforcement Media Relations for Law Enforcement Road Safety and Traffic Management Systems Advanced Traffic Science Advanced Fleet Management for Law Enforcement Practice Evidence- Based Traffic Policing Police Liability Issues Police Supervisory Practice 2. Safety, Risk and Disaster Management Disaster Management Safety Management Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Health and Safety Incident Management Risk Management Event Risk Management 3. Legal Practice and Paralegal Studies Introduction to South African Law Criminal Law Criminal Procedure Commercial Law Law of Evidence Office Management for Paralegal Practice Conveyancing, Wills and Estate Matters Debt Recovery Civil Litigation Wills and Estate Management Introduction to Accounting for Legal Practice Property Law Conveyancing Practice 4. Management, Administration and Public Relations Management Principles and Techniques Human Resource Management in Law Enforcement Public Relations and Branding Professional Communication Law and Procedure of Meetings Project Management Corporate Social Responsibility Information and Communication Technology 5. Research and Foundational Skills Research Methods Academic and Digital Literacy Key Responsibilities Delivering high-quality teaching and academic support in their assigned module. Designing, setting, reviewing and updating assessments, including exams and assignments. Marking all assessments within required timelines and ensuring academic integrity. Preparing learning materials, lecture content and teaching resources that are current, relevant and academically sound. Monitoring student performance, identifying at-risk learners, and providing appropriate support interventions. Updating module content and participating in curriculum review and improvement processes. Submitting assessments for internal moderation and addressing moderator feedback when required. Maintaining accurate academic records and supporting compliance and quality assurance processes. Participating in programme review and academic governance activities where required. Collaborate with the Programme Coordinator and faculty teams to drive academic excellence and continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records and contribute to institutional reporting and compliance requirements. Required Competencies Applicants must demonstrate: Strong subject-matter expertise and the ability to integrate theory with practical application. Excellent teaching, facilitation, and presentation skills suited to distance and blended learning environments. Competence in curriculum development, assessment design, marking, and moderation. Clear understanding of higher education regulatory frameworks and quality assurance principles. Proficiency with digital learning technologies and online teaching platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and academic writing skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and student engagement abilities. Ability to identify and support at-risk students. Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Commitment to academic integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute meaningfully to academic governance structures. Requirements Minimum Requirements A Master’s degree in a relevant field (essential). At least two years’ experience in teaching, curriculum development, or instructional design in higher education. Demonstrable experience developing study guides, assessments, or academic content. Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards, and academic quality assurance frameworks. Computer literacy with access to a laptop/desktop and reliable internet connection. Ability to meet deadlines and incorporate revisions where required.
