Natural Capital Project Manager (Ecology)
Brontide Conservation
Part time or full time, mainly remote
Occasional travel to Wollongong or Sydney as well as to conservation properties
Brontide Conservation develops and manages landscape-scale conservation projects that integrate regenerative grazing with biodiversity restoration and sustainable land stewardship. Our portfolio spans over 10 properties covering more than 30,000 acres.
We’re looking for someone with an ecology background, exceptional attention to detail and a talent for organising people and projects.
Working directly with the director, you’ll manage consultants and contractors on Brontide’s behalf, taking projects from assessment through to practical management. You’ll work with ecologists, rural contractors and biodiversity stewardship teams at DCCEEW and the Biodiversity Conservation Trust.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate biodiversity stewardship projects, including surveys, submissions, consultant deliverables and deadlines.
- Organise contractor briefs, schedules and follow-up across conservation works and regenerative grazing operations.
- Review ecological reports, maps and data for gaps or inconsistencies, follow up corrections and bring clear recommendations when a decision is needed.
- Keep project records and budgets up to date, track property obligations and coordinate invoice approvals and insurance renewals.
About You
Attention to detail, coordination and project management are central to this role. You’ll need to manage several workstreams, communicate clearly and follow tasks through to completion. You’ll be comfortable working independently and using spreadsheets and document management systems. Confident use of AI for research, document review and improving workflows is essential.
Relevant Experience
We can shape the technical side of the role around your experience. You might bring one or more of the following strengths:
- Fauna ecology: targeted threatened species surveys and habitat assessment.
- Botany: NSW flora identification, plant community type (PCT) identification, and vegetation assessment, mapping and zoning.
- Biodiversity assessment: applying BAM and contributing to or reviewing BSSARs.
- Conservation delivery: ecological monitoring, management plans and coordinating practical land management works.
- Environmental plantings: planning and delivering native revegetation projects under the ACCU Scheme.
You don’t need to cover every area, and BAM accreditation is not essential.
Applications
Please email your CV and a short note to ben@brontideconservation.com, covering your relevant experience, how you use AI, and an example of an error or issue you identified and resolved.
