POSITION: Network Engineer
Position Summary:
The Network Engineer supports, maintains, and improves the organization’s enterprise network and infrastructure environment. Networking is the primary focus of this position, including switching, routing, wireless, LAN/WAN services, branch connectivity, carrier circuits, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, the Network Engineer also provides hands-on support for servers, virtualization, storage, power systems, data center equipment, and other infrastructure technologies when needed. The position has a particular focus on supporting company locations in New Hampshire while contributing to infrastructure operations and projects across branches, corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
The role initially concentrates on traditional enterprise and branch networking. It will increasingly participate in hybrid connectivity and Microsoft Azure networking as the organization’s cloud environment grows.
Key Result Areas:
Network Engineering
- Support enterprise and branch networking, including Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points, Cisco Meraki technologies, and WAN connectivity.
- Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments, VLANs, routing, TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, and wireless services.
- Independently investigate connectivity, availability, latency, capacity, and performance issues across branches, offices, data centers, cloud platforms, and third-party services.
- Coordinate with telecommunications carriers and service providers to install circuits and resolve outages, packet loss, latency, and other service issues.
- Install, replace, upgrade, cable, and validate network hardware; maintain network diagrams, device inventories, configuration documentation, backups, and operational procedures; and support network upgrades, migrations, acquisitions, hardware refreshes, and other infrastructure projects.
Infrastructure Support
- Provide hands-on support for physical and virtual server infrastructure, storage, power, cabling, data center equipment, rack-and-stack activities, equipment installation, structured cabling, and power-related infrastructure work.
- Install, replace, and troubleshoot APC UPS equipment at branch and infrastructure locations.
- Perform basic administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025; assist with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration and troubleshooting.
- Support HPE server hardware, HPE Alletra, and HPE dHCI environments, including server component diagnosis and replacement, and assist with storage and virtualization troubleshooting.
- Support server and infrastructure patching, hardware lifecycle activities, monitoring, alert response, vulnerability remediation, and backup and recovery platforms; work with vendors and support providers to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant network or infrastructure engineering experience, including hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise switching and routing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, DHCP, DNS, enterprise wireless networking, and branch connectivity.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues, including installing, replacing, cabling, and supporting network and infrastructure hardware.
- Experience supporting production infrastructure across multiple locations, with foundational knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization, physical server infrastructure, and enterprise hardware.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate network diagrams, implementation records, and technical documentation, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently at remote sites while performing hands-on infrastructure work.
- Ability and willingness to travel between company locations as required, particularly in New Hampshire,
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Cisco Meraki, VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, Windows Server 2022/2025, HPE server hardware, HPE Alletra storage, HPE dHCI, APC UPS systems, enterprise storage, backup and recovery technologies, Microsoft Azure and hybrid-cloud connectivity, infrastructure monitoring, configuration management, automation or scripting tools, branch and data center environments, banking or other regulated industries, and relevant Cisco, Microsoft Azure, or comparable infrastructure certifications.

Salary Range: $83,500.00 - $111,300.00
The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Cambridge Savings Bank ranges from $71,300.00 - $114,100.
