Network Security Architect

Network Security Architect | 12-Month Contract | Stockholm

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Architect to join a major project on an initial 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a senior security professional with strong enterprise network architecture expertise and experience reviewing, challenging and approving complex network designs.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Contract: 12 months

Working Model: Hybrid, with 1–2 days per week onsite in Stockholm

You will act as a trusted security advisor, working closely with Information Security, Network Engineering, Infrastructure Architecture and project teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure network solutions meet security requirements, comply with relevant policies and standards, and are reviewed and approved efficiently.

You will also help improve and accelerate the security review and approval process, particularly for activities in Sweden.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, challenge and optimise enterprise network architectures and technical designs.
• Conduct formal security reviews and support the approval of network designs and firewall changes before implementation.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on network segmentation, micro-segmentation, access control, VPNs, remote access and Zero Trust architecture.
• Assess routing, switching, cloud networking, network security and IAM integration.
• Identify security risks, design gaps and appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support security assessments, architecture governance and audit-related activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network engineering, information security and project stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical security risks into clear recommendations and challenge designs where necessary.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in IT architecture and Information Security, with a strong focus on network security architecture.
• Proven experience reviewing and approving enterprise-scale network designs in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of network security architecture, firewalls, security gateways, segmentation, VPNs, routing, switching and Zero Trust.
• Understanding of cloud security, secure networking and IAM integration.
• Experience with security architecture reviews, risk assessments and governance processes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge technical designs and drive decisions.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Sufficient seniority and technical authority to support or formally approve network designs and firewall changes.
