Manila, Philippines | Hybrid (2 to 3 days onsite per month) | Competitive base + benefits

Five days onsite wearing you down? Long commutes catching up with you?

If you have hands-on experience in network or security operations and want to build a career in network security, with greater flexibility and structured progression, this role is built for engineers who want to grow fast without sacrificing life outside of work.

At Orro, we back ambition. As we expand our managed services in network security, you will join a brand-new Network Security team from the ground up, supporting some of Australia’s largest enterprise clients across firewalls, Secure Service Edge and infrastructure as code.

This isn’t just another support role. We are building a modern, automation-driven network security function that is secure, reliable, and built around great people. As a Network Security Engineer Level 1, you will be on the front line, monitoring, triaging and resolving issues across firewall and SSE platforms, with experienced Level 2 engineers behind you and a clear path to grow.

Part of a high-energy, high-trust team, you will thrive on curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Each day brings new challenges, triaging live issues, learning new platforms, and raising the standard of service Orro is known for.

About Orro

We’re an Australian success story, now close to 500 people strong, delivering secure, end-to-end digital solutions across cloud, collaboration, cyber security, data services and network infrastructure, all backed by over 20 years of experience. Trusted by some of Australia’s biggest brands, Orro leads the way in designing, building and operating digital infrastructure that delivers greater efficiency, agility, performance and resilience. Our solutions take the stress out of tech for more than 400 businesses and over 20 million Australians every single day.

Our mission? To create “future now” solutions making it faster, simpler and safer for people to access, store and share information, wherever they are and whoever they’re with. But more than that, we know that real impact comes from connecting people, not just machines. That’s why we take the time to understand our clients; how they work, what matters to them, and where they’re headed so we can deliver not just what they need today, but what they’ll need next.

With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and teams across New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, Orro is known for delivering future-ready solutions, backed by deep expertise, genuine human insight and lasting partnerships.

Why Join this Team?

  • Be part of a brand-new team from day one, with a real say in how it’s built

  • Hybrid working model, with 2 to 3 days in the office each month for training and team building. The team will move to a rotating 24x7 roster as it grows

  • Full onboarding, coaching, and hands-on training across leading security platforms

  • Clear progression pathway from L1 to L2 with mentorship and upskilling

  • Hands-on experience with leading platforms including Cisco, Zscaler, Check Point and Fortinet, plus exposure to infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible

  • Work closely with customers, Level 2 and 3 engineers and network security architects

  • A supportive team that backs your growth, not just your tickets!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor alerts across customer firewall and SSE environments, triaging issues and responding within agreed SLAs

  • Troubleshoot connectivity and access issues across TCP/IP, DNS, routing and ports, identifying whether the cause is network, policy or application

  • Review firewall and Zscaler logs to confirm whether traffic is permitted or blocked

  • Follow runbooks and manage tickets through to resolution or escalation, with clear and complete documentation

  • Escalate to Level 2 engineers promptly when issues go beyond Level 1 scope

  • Build your capability across firewall, SSE and automation, working towards Level 2

What You’ll Bring

The Essentials

  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in network security or network operations, supporting production environments

  • Experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP), supporting multiple external clients under SLA

  • Solid network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, ports and structured troubleshooting

  • Experience monitoring alerts, triaging issues, following runbooks, and documenting and escalating clearly

  • Basic operational experience with either enterprise firewalls or SSE platforms. Experience across both is preferred, but not mandatory

  • Strong written and verbal English, able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Willingness to work a rotating 24x7 shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays, as the team grows

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA)

  • Exposure to Cisco FTD and/or Check Point

  • Experience with Netskope, Cisco SSE, Fortinet or Palo Alto

  • Wireshark, VPN basics, or Terraform/Ansible

  • ITSM tools and ITIL-based change management

Even if you don’t tick every box, don’t let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
