Manila, Philippines | Hybrid (2 to 3 days onsite per month) | Competitive base + benefits

Five days onsite wearing you down? Long commutes catching up with you?

If you are already operating at Level 2 in network security and want greater flexibility, structured progression, and deeper exposure to the platforms that protect enterprise networks, this role is built for engineers who want to grow fast without sacrificing life outside of work.

At Orro, we back ambition. As we expand our managed services in network security, you will join a brand-new Network Security team from the ground up, supporting some of Australia’s largest enterprise clients across firewalls, Secure Service Edge and infrastructure as code.

This isn’t just another support role. We are building a modern, automation-driven network security function that is secure, reliable, and built around great people. As a Network Security Engineer Level 2, you will be the go-to escalation point, owning complex issues, implementing changes and helping shape how the team operates from day one.

Part of a high-energy, high-trust team, you will thrive on curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Each day brings new challenges, solving complex traffic and policy issues, collaborating across teams, and raising the standard of service Orro is known for.

About Orro

We’re an Australian success story, now close to 500 people strong, delivering secure, end-to-end digital solutions across cloud, collaboration, cyber security, data services and network infrastructure, all backed by over 20 years of experience. Trusted by some of Australia’s biggest brands, Orro leads the way in designing, building and operating digital infrastructure that delivers greater efficiency, agility, performance and resilience. Our solutions take the stress out of tech for more than 400 businesses and over 20 million Australians every single day.

Our mission? To create “future now” solutions making it faster, simpler and safer for people to access, store and share information, wherever they are and whoever they’re with. But more than that, we know that real impact comes from connecting people, not just machines. That’s why we take the time to understand our clients; how they work, what matters to them, and where they’re headed so we can deliver not just what they need today, but what they’ll need next.

With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and teams across New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, Orro is known for delivering future-ready solutions, backed by deep expertise, genuine human insight and lasting partnerships.

Why Join this Team?

  • Be part of a brand-new team from day one, with a real say in how it’s built

  • Hybrid working model, with 2 to 3 days in the office each month for training and team building. The team will move to a rotating 24x7 roster as it grows

  • Full onboarding, coaching, and hands-on training across leading security platforms

  • Clear progression pathway from L2 to L3 with mentorship and upskilling

  • Hands-on work with leading platforms including Cisco, Zscaler, Check Point and Fortinet, plus infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible

  • Work closely with customers, senior escalation engineers and network security architects

  • A supportive team that backs your growth, not just your tickets!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own complex network security incidents through to resolution, acting as the escalation point for Level 1

  • Troubleshoot Layer 3 to Layer 7 issues using packet captures, DNS, TLS/SSL and routing analysis

  • Manage and troubleshoot policy across firewall and SSE platforms, including Zscaler, Cisco, Check Point and Fortinet

  • Implement changes, including updating and deploying infrastructure and security policy as code using Terraform or Ansible

  • Manage escalations with clear, confident communication to customers and internal teams

  • Mentor Level 1 engineers, contribute to runbooks and knowledge base articles, and help shape how the team operates

  • Help transition new projects and technologies into managed services, making sure they are operationally ready and well supported

  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement and efficiency across the services we deliver

What You’ll Bring

The Essentials

  • 5+ years’ ICT experience, including at least 3 years in network or network security operations

  • Experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP), supporting multiple external clients under SLA

  • Strong Layer 3 to Layer 7 troubleshooting, including packet captures, DNS, TLS/SSL and routing

  • Proven ownership of complex incidents, changes and escalations, including mentoring less experienced engineers

  • Strong hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting either enterprise firewalls or SSE platforms. Experience across both is highly preferred, but not mandatory

  • Excellent English communication skills, able to engage confidently with Australian customers and stakeholders

  • Willingness to work a rotating 24x7 shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays, as the team grows

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on Zscaler experience (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)

  • Hands-on Cisco FTD and/or Check Point experience

  • Practical Terraform or Ansible experience, including reading, updating and deploying infrastructure or security policy as code

  • Experience with Netskope, Cisco SSE, Fortinet or Palo Alto

  • ITSM tools and ITIL-based change management

Even if you don’t tick every box, don’t let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
