Do you understand what makes retail customers browse, buy, return and spend more?
We’re partnering with an established Australian retail group with a portfolio of recognised consumer brands. They’re looking for a commercially minded Customer Insights Analyst who can connect customer behaviour across e-commerce and physical stores, then turn that analysis into practical recommendations.
This is a hands-on role for an analyst who enjoys working directly with data while partnering with CRM, digital, marketing and retail stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with the Group Head of CRM and Customer Engagement, you’ll:
- Analyse customer behaviour across e-commerce and bricks-and-mortar stores
- Connect CRM, loyalty, POS, website and transactional data to build a clearer view of the customer
- Explore purchasing frequency, basket size, product preferences and channel behaviour
- Identify opportunities to improve acquisition, retention, reactivation, loyalty and customer value
- Build customer segments, cohorts and targeted audiences
- Analyse movement between online and in-store purchasing
- Measure the incremental impact of email, SMS, promotional and CRM campaigns
- Identify cross-sell and next-best-product opportunities
- Build and maintain customer reporting and Power BI dashboards
- Present clear recommendations to CRM, digital, e-commerce, marketing and brand teams
What you’ll bring
- Around three to five years’ experience in customer insights, CRM analytics, retail analytics, commercial analytics or BI
- Experience analysing customers within a B2C retail or e-commerce environment
- Exposure to both digital and physical store data
- Strong hands-on SQL skills
- Practical Power BI experience, including data modelling and dashboard development
- Experience working with customer, POS, transactional, loyalty or behavioural data
- Knowledge of segmentation, campaign measurement, cohorts, retention, churn or customer value analysis
- The ability to move beyond reporting and explain what the business should do next
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-technical stakeholders
- A curious, practical and commercially minded approach
Experience working across multiple retail brands, customer databases or loyalty programs would be particularly valuable.
Why consider it?
- Work with rich customer data across multiple established consumer brands
- Analyse the complete customer journey across online and physical retail
- See your recommendations influence CRM, marketing, e-commerce and trading decisions
- Join a business investing in its customer analytics capability
- Remain close to the data while gaining broader commercial exposure
- Develop your technical skills and influence across a complex retail environment
Salary: $130,000–$140,000 + superannuation
Location: Inner South Sydney
Working arrangement: Four days in the office and one day from home
If you enjoy uncovering how customers shop across channels and turning those insights into practical commercial action, we’d love to hear from you.
