12-month fixed-term contract – parental leave cover
Eagle Farm | Four days in the office, Fridays from home
Join Lorna Jane’s Enterprise Systems team and help manage the technology behind our connected store, website and mobile customer experience.
This is a hands-on, mid-level specialist role working across Shopify, NewStore (POS), product information management, search and merchandising, and a broader retail technology environment. During the 12-month contract, you will also contribute to important customer-facing initiatives across our mobile application and wider omnichannel ecosystem.
Reporting to the Enterprise Systems Manager, you will combine technical investigation, platform improvement, vendor coordination and stakeholder engagement. You will work alongside integration specialists, internal technology teams and external partners to progress issues and initiatives from initial investigation through to delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the day-to-day operational health of our Shopify storefront, POS, order management, PIM, search, merchandising and related customer-experience platforms.
- Investigate common Shopify storefront issues across Liquid themes, applications, platform configuration and connected services.
- Diagnose product data, attribute, field-mapping, channel and synchronisation issues between the PIM, Shopify and downstream platforms.
- Investigate search and merchandising issues involving product feeds, search rules, ranking, redirects, personalisation and platform configuration.
- Use available logs, error information, API and webhook responses, and data synchronisation results to help identify where system issues are occurring.
- Resolve configuration and platform issues within the role’s authority, following established testing, security and change-management processes.
- Work with integration specialists, developers and vendors when an issue requires code changes or deeper technical investigation.
- Manage vendor support tickets and platform requests from investigation and scoping through to testing, implementation and closure.
- Translate business needs from Retail, eCommerce, Marketing and Customer Care into clear and practical system requirements.
- Coordinate platform releases and changes, including testing, stakeholder communication, documentation and user training.
- Contribute to mobile application and omnichannel initiatives, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, release preparation and business readiness.
- Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve platform reliability, internal processes and the customer experience.
What You’ll Bring
Essential experience
- Practical, hands-on Shopify experience in a platform operations, development-support or eCommerce systems environment.
- Some hands-on experience with Shopify Liquid, with the confidence to understand and troubleshoot common theme issues and make straightforward updates where appropriate.
- Experience supporting a Product Information Management platform, including product attributes, mappings, channel data and eCommerce synchronisation.
- Experience working with search and merchandising platforms, including product feeds, search rules, ranking, redirects and merchandising configuration.
- A sound understanding of omnichannel retail systems, including eCommerce, POS and order management.
- Comfort working with technical concepts such as APIs, webhooks, integrations and data flows, and using available logs and error information to support issue investigation.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor-management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience working within structured testing, incident, release and change-management processes.
This is not a developer role. However, you should be comfortable working with Shopify Liquid, investigating common storefront and platform issues, and collaborating with development or integration specialists when deeper technical support is required.
