ABOUT THE ROLE
The Onboarding & Learning Specialist is a key role within the dentsu Americas Learning Team, responsible for leading the regional onboarding experience and supporting broader learning programs across the Americas. Reporting to the Americas Learning Lead, this person serves as the face of onboarding for the region, helping new hires feel welcomed, connected, and prepared to succeed from day one.
This individual contributor combines strategic ownership with strong facilitation, program management, and partnership skills. They will design, lead, and continuously improve onboarding strategy and delivery while facilitating and supporting learning initiatives that strengthen employee capabilities across the region. Success requires building trusted relationships across a highly matrixed organization and creating consistent, engaging experiences that reflect the needs of different markets, offices, and employee populations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Onboarding Strategy and Experience
- Own and continuously evolve the onboarding experience across dentsu Americas, ensuring it reflects business priorities, dentsu culture, and employee needs.
- Serve as the primary regional point of contact and subject matter expert for onboarding programs, experiences, and best practices.
- Design and maintain scalable onboarding journeys, learning pathways, resources, and touchpoints for new hires from preboarding through key milestones in their first year.
- Develop and improve practical onboarding resources, toolkits, and guidance for people managers and other onboarding partners.
- Use new-hire feedback, participation data, and stakeholder insights to evaluate effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
- Create consistency across the regional onboarding experience while partnering with local teams to adapt delivery for different markets, offices, and employee populations.
Onboarding Delivery and Facilitation
- Lead and facilitate regional virtual onboarding sessions, partnering with colleagues and subject matter experts to deliver an engaging and connected experience.
- Lead in-person onboarding sessions and experiences for New York-based employees.
- Partner with colleagues in other offices to support consistent in-person onboarding delivery across the region.
- Build meaningful connections with new hires and create opportunities for them to understand dentsu, navigate the organization, and begin building their internal network.
- Coordinate speakers, facilitators, content, communications, and supporting materials needed for high-quality onboarding delivery.
Learning and Development Programs
- Serve as a primary facilitator for regional learning programs, delivering engaging virtual and in-person experiences for employees.
- Support the Americas intern program, including intern onboarding and orientation, learning sessions, participant communications, and other program experiences as needed.
- Partner with learning colleagues, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to prepare and deliver virtual and in-person learning experiences.
- Support program implementation, learner communications, participant engagement, and follow-up activities for priority learning initiatives.
- Contribute to special projects and broader priorities as business and learner needs evolve.
Stakeholder Partnership and Program Management
- Build strong partnerships across Talent Acquisition, HR, IT, Internal Communications, business leadership, and other functions that shape the new-hire experience.
- Partner with Culture colleagues when their expertise or programming supports the onboarding experience, while maintaining clear ownership of the regional onboarding portfolio.
- Manage onboarding and learning workstreams, including scope, timelines, stakeholder updates, risks, and delivery.
- Influence across teams and levels without direct authority, bringing stakeholders together around a clear and consistent employee experience.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5 or more years of experience in onboarding, learning and development, talent development, employee experience, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning or significantly improving onboarding programs, employee journeys, or related talent experiences.
- Strong virtual and in-person facilitation skills, with the presence and confidence to represent onboarding across a region.
- Experience partnering on learning design or program design, with the ability to translate business and learner needs into engaging experiences and practical resources.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including experience working across functions in a matrixed organization.
- Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep complex work moving with limited oversight.
- Clear, human communication skills across written, presentation, and live facilitation formats.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to use data, feedback, and observation to make thoughtful program decisions.
- Comfort with ambiguity, changing priorities, and balancing regional consistency with local needs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
- Ability to work regularly from the New York office and travel occasionally as program needs evolve.

The dentsu Americas Learning Team partners across the region to design and deliver learning experiences that build individual capability and support business transformation at scale. We operate as internal consultants, program architects, and facilitators at the intersection of strategy, talent, and performance.

Employees who live within a commutable distance of one of our hub offices, currently located in Chicago, metro Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City, are required and expected to work from the office three days per week (two days per week for employees based in Los Angeles and Detroit). Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.
The annual salary range for this position is $94,875-$120,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
