Online Journalist

Role Description This internship role for an Online Journalist at JakartaInsideCom is a hybrid position based in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site reporting and work from home. The Online Journalist will research local and regional news stories, verify information from multiple sources, and conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders. The role includes writing and editing news articles, preparing press releases, and producing timely online content aligned with the outlet’s editorial standards. The intern will support basic broadcasting tasks for digital segments, collaborate with editors and other journalists on story development, and assist in monitoring trending topics and audience engagement across digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication skills, including Writing and News Writing, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content.
• Ability to prepare professional Press Releases and adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms.
• Solid Research skills, including fact-checking, source verification, and data gathering for news stories.
• Interest or experience in Broadcasting for online or social media segments, including basic on-camera or audio presentation.
• Good command of English and Indonesian, both written and spoken.
• Attention to detail, ethical journalism mindset, and commitment to accuracy and fairness.
• Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and collaborate in a hybrid work environment.
• Enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with digital media tools, content management systems, and social media platforms is an advantage.
