The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Online University Instructor to deliver high-quality virtual instruction, support student development, and contribute to effective online learning experiences. In this part-time, fully remote role, you will facilitate online classes, develop learning materials, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to help learners succeed.

The ideal candidate combines subject expertise with strong communication skills and a student-centered teaching approach. You should be comfortable using digital learning platforms and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging online lectures, seminars, tutorials, and interactive learning sessions in the relevant subject area.
• Prepare and update course materials, presentations, assignments, and supplementary learning resources.
• Develop lesson plans and learning activities aligned with course objectives and academic standards.
• Facilitate discussions, encourage critical thinking, and promote active student participation.
• Assess assignments, examinations, projects, and other academic work using established evaluation criteria.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to help students understand their progress and improve performance.
• Respond to student questions and provide appropriate academic guidance during designated support hours.
• Use learning management systems and digital teaching tools to manage course content and student activities.
• Monitor student engagement and identify learners who may need additional academic support.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, assessment results, and course documentation.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues to review course effectiveness and improve teaching practices.
• Stay informed about developments in the relevant discipline, online education, and digital learning methodologies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant teaching, lecturing, academic training, or professional subject-matter experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in the relevant discipline preferred; a master's degree or higher may be required depending on the subject and institutional standards.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and student engagement skills.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital assessment systems.
• Ability to design structured learning activities and evaluate student performance fairly.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage teaching schedules and assessment deadlines.
• A patient, supportive, and inclusive approach to student development.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with academic teams remotely.
• Professional teaching or academic certifications are not required unless specified by the institution or applicable regulations.
