About the job


Key Responsibilities:

The Risk Operations Analyst enables fast, fair and pain-free lending decisions for UK SMEs. You will:

• Carry out speedy, accurate processing of customer documents submitted with UK loan applications

• Pre-screen UK SME applicants: verify financial and identity documents, UK company records (Companies House filings, director and shareholder information), credit history, credit scores and financial information

• Screen for PEP and sanctions involvement, and own and uphold Lenkie's KYC and AML standards

• Identify red flags in applications that may indicate fraud, money laundering or financial distress, and escalate them appropriately

• Identify opportunities to improve KYC/AML processes, and help implement changes that make the team more efficient

• Screen and approve our customer’s suppliers and supplier payment invoices/payments

• Take ownership of projects that add value beyond day-to-day casework

• Work closely with Lenkie's Underwriting, Credit Risk, Sales and Account Management teams to maintain consistently high KYC and AML standards across the Lenkie book.


Qualifications/required skills

Ideally you'll have:

• Fluent written and spoken English

• An analytical mindset, with the ability to understand, assess and improve complex processes

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

• The ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot missing or inconsistent data from a mile away

• A communicative personality and good team-player skills — you'll collaborate across multiple teams

• The ability to work autonomously

• A proactive, self-starter approach

• A good understanding of the UK fintech and SME lending space Lenkie operates in is desirable

• Familiarity with UK company structures and Companies House filings is desirable

• Motivation to take on responsibility, work on projects, and help improve processes

• Interest in progressing into Compliance, Fraud, Quality Assurance, Credit or Data Analysis

• A completed degree or equivalent professional qualification
