Location: Hybrid Hanscom AFB/Boston, MA
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing secure Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments in support of the Cloud One Next program. You will provide hands-on engineering expertise across cloud compute, networking, storage, identity and access management, automation, monitoring, security, and platform services. You will work closely with cloud architects, cybersecurity teams, DevSecOps engineers, application teams, and Government stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available cloud solutions that support Department of Defense mission requirements.
The proposed salary range for this position is up to $129,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments supporting enterprise and mission workloads.

Engineer OCI compute, networking, storage, load balancing, DNS, routing, and secure cloud connectivity solutions.
-
Configure and manage OCI Virtual Cloud Networks, subnets, route tables, gateways, security lists, and network security groups.
-
Implement and maintain OCI Identity and Access Management, including users, groups, policies, compartments, roles, and least-privilege access controls.
-
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and other approved automation technologies.
-
Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

Support DevSecOps teams with cloud platform integration, CI/CD infrastructure, containerized workloads, and automated deployment capabilities.

Implement and maintain cloud security configurations in accordance with applicable Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.

Work with cybersecurity personnel to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities, configuration findings, and security compliance issues.

Configure and support cloud logging, monitoring, alerting, auditing, metrics, and performance management capabilities.

Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, utilization, and overall health.

Design and support resilient cloud environments, including fault tolerance, backup, disaster recovery, continuity, and high availability solutions.

Support cloud migration, modernization, application onboarding, and platform integration activities.

Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, connectivity, access, performance, deployment, and configuration issues.

Integrate OCI with other enterprise, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments as required.

Support secure connectivity between OCI, on-premises systems, and other cloud service providers.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operating procedures, and implementation guidance.

Participate in technical reviews, sprint planning, engineering discussions, demonstrations, and program working groups.

Provide technical recommendations regarding OCI capabilities, infrastructure risks, dependencies, performance, and modernization opportunities.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level cloud engineers.

Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions

Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded

Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area

Participate in growth efforts as requested

Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction

Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with the camera on)

Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program

Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements

Perform other related duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's with 6+ years of experience

Hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering, or supporting enterprise cloud environments.

Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services and technologies.
-
Experience with cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, DNS, gateways, firewalls, load balancing, and secure connectivity.
-
Experience with cloud identity and access management and role-based access controls.
-
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
-
Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows systems in cloud environments.
-
Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, auditing, troubleshooting, and performance management.
-
Experience implementing security configurations and controls within enterprise cloud environments.
-
Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern cloud deployment methodologies.
-
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to communicate technical information effectively with engineering teams, leadership, and Government stakeholders.

DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II certification

At least one cloud certification
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government cloud environments.

Experience supporting Cloud One, Cloud One Next, Platform One, or similar DoD enterprise cloud initiatives.

Experience working in multi-cloud environments, including OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or managed container platforms.
-
Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar scripting and automation technologies.

Experience supporting Zero Trust architecture and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
-
Experience supporting systems operating under the Risk Management Framework.
-
Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments.
-
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification or comparable industry cloud certification.
