Paid Intern Investment/ALM - Spring &/or Summer 2027 – REMOTE/HYBRID (Must reside within commuting distance of Greensboro, NC)

The Investment/ALM Intern is responsible for assisting with research, analysis, and due diligence to support investment and ALM functions within a corporate credit union. This position will also assist in performing analysis on specific investment products and services and assist in running an investment portfolio analytical software platform.

This part-time position is work from home and if able, would be available to meet in the office once per week if they reside within commuting distance of the Greensboro campus (7900 Triad Center Dr, Suite 410, Greensboro, NC, 27409).

Requirements

The Position: The ideal candidate must have strong data and research skills and experience preparing reports. Experience with modeling and analysis, and knowledge of financial recommendations is preferred.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Support the investments and ALM teams in their work with credit union investment officers/chief financial officers to promote Vizo Financial’s investment products and ALM services. Provide analysis and research for investments and ALM teams. Help manage data and create reports and presentations for credit union executives. Use Bloomberg terminal regularly to keep abreast of current and expected market conditions and interest rates.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of general balance sheet and investment management strategies. Assist investment/ALM analysts with investment and/or liquidity (funding) strategies.
• Provide support with internal portfolio analytical system inputting data, creating reports, analyzing data, etc. Keep model current and be able to generate reports and analysis as needed.
• Stay current and knowledgeable of all economic news and information that pertains to the financial services industry and, in particular, the specific role corporate credit unions play. This includes daily monitoring of market rates and trends, Federal Reserve monetary policy activities, investment products, economic indicators, and issuer/rating agency news and information.

Seeking candidates with:

• College student pursuing a degree in economics, finance, money and banking, and/or accounting. A background in customer relations or sales is helpful; Experience with Bloomberg is helpful but not required.
• Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Outlook, Office 365, Word), general internet knowledge, Power Point, web presentation software (WebEx, Zoom, etc.).
• Familiar with advanced excel applications to include, embedded formulas, power query and pivot tables.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 15 - 25 hours per week
