Paralegal Assistant Job Details:
Snell & Wilmer is seeking a Paralegal Assistant to provide essential support to Paralegals and Attorneys within the Commercial Finance practice group in the Salt Lake City office. This role will support attorneys and paralegals on a variety of commercial finance matters, including the preparation and organization of transaction documents, due diligence, closing processes, and ongoing file and document management.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the office.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Transaction & Document Management: Prepare, organize, maintain, and electronically file documents related to commercial finance transactions, ensuring files are complete, accurate, and accessible.
- Transaction Support: Assist attorneys and paralegals with the preparation, assembly, and distribution of loan and financing documents and other transaction-related materials.
- Due Diligence Support: Assist with gathering, organizing, and reviewing due diligence materials and identifying missing or outstanding information.
- Closing Support: Assist with coordinating and preparing materials for commercial finance closings, including organizing closing checklists, signature pages, exhibits, and other transaction documents.
- Document Preparation & Quality Control: Prepare and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and transaction materials for accuracy, formatting, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
- File & Data Management: Maintain electronic and physical files, track transaction documents, and deadlines, and ensure documents are properly saved and organized in accordance with firm procedures.
- Client & Team Coordination: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, paralegals, clients, lenders, borrowers, and other parties involved in transactions to facilitate the timely completion of matters.
- Research & Information Gathering: Assist attorneys and paralegals with gathering information from public records, online databases, and other resources as needed to support commercial finance matters.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Education: Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program (or a combination of education and experience), preferred.
- Commercial/Transactional Experience: Experience supporting a transactional, corporate, real estate, banking, finance, or similar legal practice is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality, error-free work.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and other parties.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and effectively use firm-specific software and document management systems.
- Independence & Initiative: A self-starter who can work independently with appropriate supervision while proactively seeking assistance and clarification when needed.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff while providing responsive and professional support.
