Part-time Faculty: Human Resources

Position Summary
The Department of Leadership, Management, and Human Capital in the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology at National University invites applications for part-time faculty in Human Resources. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Management (with significant Human Resources coursework and/or professional experience), or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited university required.
- 3–5 years of graduate and/or doctoral higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees preferred. Dissertation chair experience, evidence of ongoing scholarly activity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, scholarly research), experience mentoring doctoral students, professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR), online doctoral teaching, and experience with qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods research preferred.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
