In this role, you’ll directly empower individuals in our community to access the healthcare services they need and deserve.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Direct Community Impact: You’ll break down barriers to care by guiding patients through registration, eligibility, and renewal processes so their care is never interrupted.
- Flexible Hybrid Schedule: Get the best of both worlds with a balanced mix of hands-on, patient-facing clinic days and remote administrative focus time.
- Collaborative Team Culture: Work alongside passionate medical staff, volunteers, and care coordinators in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
What You’ll Do
- Eligibility, Renewals & Registration (40%): Guide new and returning patients through the eligibility process, review documentation, track renewals, and process check-ins in Athena EHR.
- Scheduling & Patient Outreach (20%): Manage appointment scheduling, waitlists, reminders, and cancellations to keep clinic operations running smoothly.
- Front Office & Clinic Operations (20%): Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, manage administrative correspondence, and keep our reception area warm and welcoming.
- Cross-Functional & Administrative Support (10%): Cross-train in basic medical records and referral workflows to support the team during peak times or staff absences.
- Team Guidance & Continuous Improvement (10%): Support volunteers and interns, recommend workflow updates, and participate in clinic quality improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Languages: Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate degree in Healthcare Admin, Human Services, or related field preferred).
- Experience: Background in healthcare administration, patient registration, eligibility, scheduling, or customer service preferred.
- Tech Skills: Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred (Athena experience is a plus!).
- Key Strengths: High attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, HIPAA compliance knowledge, and a strong commitment to serving diverse populations with dignity and respect.
Work Schedule & Location
- Status: Part-Time (~25 hours per week)
- Format: Hybrid – Generally 2 scheduled days onsite per week for front-office coverage, with remaining hours completed remotely for administrative and outreach tasks.
