PERMANENT AU DAYSHIFY REMOTE/WFH - PHILIPPINES Position: Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist Company: AU Contractors Location: Australia / Offshore Employment Type: Full-Time VA Rate : $12AUD per hour About the Role The client is seeking a highly experienced Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to manage payroll processing and bookkeeping functions while ensuring strict compliance with Australian employment laws and Fair Work requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Australian payroll at scale, including complex payroll requirements, Modern Awards, pay rates, overtime, penalty rates, allowances, leave entitlements, and other employment conditions. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as payroll errors can lead to significant compliance and employee relations issues. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australian employees. • Apply and interpret relevant Fair Work Modern Awards and employment conditions. • Ensure accurate calculation of ordinary hours, overtime, penalty rates, allowances, leave, and other entitlements. • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation. • Process payroll accurately and within required deadlines. • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and complex payroll issues. • Perform bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and payroll records. • Stay informed of changes to Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards, and payroll requirements. • Work closely with management to ensure payroll practices are compliant and minimise risk. • Handle sensitive employee and payroll information with a high level of confidentiality. Job Requirements • Proven experience in Australian payroll and bookkeeping. • Strong understanding of Fair Work Australia and Modern Awards. • XERO, Simpro and Airwalex experience is a MUST • Experience managing complex payroll requirements at scale. • Strong knowledge of overtime, penalty rates, allowances, leave entitlements, and employment conditions. • Excellent bookkeeping and reconciliation skills. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong understanding of Australian payroll compliance and employment legislation. • Ability to identify potential compliance risks and resolve issues proactively. • Experience with Australian payroll and accounting software. • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
