Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Hybrid (Office-based with remote work)

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented payroll professional who can manage payroll processing and benefits administration in a fast-paced environment. This role combines technical payroll expertise with strong employee support, ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and excellent internal service.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Process payroll accurately and on time, including timesheets, overtime, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
• Prepare and manage tax documents such as W-2s and 1099s
• Ensure payroll records and documentation are properly maintained

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with payroll and benefits regulations
• Prepare reports and support internal or external audits
• Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulatory requirements

Employee Support

• Provide guidance to employees regarding payroll and benefits policies
• Support new hire onboarding sessions related to payroll and benefits
• Develop educational materials to help employees better understand payroll and benefits processes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong understanding of payroll and benefits regulations including FLSA, COBRA, ACA, and ERISA
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Payroll or HR certifications such as CPP or PHR are a plus
