About the Opportunity

At Built by Upstart, we're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support the payroll operations of a U.S.-based organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who understands the complexities of U.S. payroll and enjoys working with payroll systems, solving discrepancies, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

We're especially interested in professionals with hands-on experience in UKG Ready, U.S. multi-state payroll, and prevailing wage requirements.

What You'll Do

• Process and administer payroll using UKG Ready.
• Manage payroll activities for employees across multiple U.S. states.
• Apply prevailing wage requirements and ensure accurate payroll calculations.
• Review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and protect confidential employee information.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and reliable payroll operations.
  

What We're Looking For

• Several years of hands-on payroll processing experience, specifically with U.S. payroll.
• Direct experience using UKG Ready for payroll processing or administration.
• Practical experience with U.S. prevailing wage payroll requirements.
• Experience processing multi-state U.S. payroll, including state-specific requirements.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, calculations, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• A high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
