ABOUT THE ROLE

Playgroup NSW (PGNSW) is seeking a dynamic and experienced People & Culture Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you provide support across all facets of Human Resources, assisting the Executive Lead, People with driving our organisation's vision, mission, and strategic business objectives. You will be part of fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.


This role will provide administration and coordination of all human resources processes, procedures and programs across the organisation; with a key focus on recruitment, onboarding, induction, HRIS ownership and training coordination.



The goal is to improve capacity and capability within the PGNSW team and training outcomes. On a day-to-day basis, this will involve providing advice and responding to enquiries from employees in relation to the organisation's HR policies, procedures, and programs, as well as support initiatives to enhance employee engagement, development and performance levels. HR administration responsibilities are also a priority, and you will develop and maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to effectively support PGNSW and ensure alignment with organisational and legislative requirements.

You will play an important part in enabling employees of Playgroup NSW to bring their best selves to work, by supporting a safe and compliant workplace where a culture of wellbeing and positivity is maintained.

People & Culture Coordinator


KEY RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE


  • Maintain the Human Resources Information System (BambooHR), ensuring employee information is accurately and confidentially retained.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process including position description development and classification/salary determination; appropriate paperwork and approvals; development of advertisements, assisting with candidate interviews and related backgrounds checks as required for positions.
  • Assist with the coordination of relevant training programs and maintain accurate records and reporting of all mandatory training, certifications, qualifications and learning and development activities.
  • Ensure the employee on-boarding experience of new employees is adhered to and work with the team to ensure employees are inducted and oriented appropriately.
  • Provide accurate and timely HR advice to support the effective implementation and compliance with all HR policies, procedures and programs.
  • Manage the exit processes (including liaising with payroll, exit interviews and required notice periods).
  • Assist with adherence to Award and legislative compliance (including assisting with managing annual pay increases).
  • Assist with supporting management and employees in the interpretation and adherence to the Award and/or appropriate employee legislation.



    WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    • Substantial experience in a similar People & Culture or HR generalist role, preferably within the not-for-profit or community services sector.
    • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation (including SCHADS award), and industrial relations.
    • Strong proficiency in using HR information systems (HRIS) and data analysis tools, as well as experience with Learning Management Systems.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
    • Understanding of implementing people-focused initiatives that drive employee engagement and organisational performance.
    • Genuine passion for supporting and empowering people in the workplace, enjoying fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and well-being aligned with organisational values.
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
    • Valid Working with Children Check
