The Opportunity
Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a complex, fast paced organisation and knows how to build credibility with leaders across different areas of a business?
We’re looking for a People Business Partner to join the People team at Sizewell C, providing hands on, commercially focused people support across a growing and complex organisation.
This isn’t a role where you’ll support one neat, standalone area. We’re looking for someone comfortable working across multiple business areas, navigating matrix structures and managing relationships with a range of leaders and stakeholders. You’ll need a strong HR generalist background combined with the confidence to coach, influence and positively challenge managers when needed.
The role will partner with designated leaders, translating people plans into practical action and providing professional advice, commercial people solutions and operational support. You’ll work across areas including organisational change, performance, talent, resourcing, employee relations, reward and people development.
Why join Sizewell C?
Sizewell C is one of Britain’s major infrastructure projects, with plans to design, finance, construct, commission and ultimately operate a new nuclear power station and its associated infrastructure in Suffolk.
As the organisation continues to grow, our People team has an important role to play in building the organisation, supporting its leaders and creating the people practices needed for the future.
It’s an opportunity to bring your HR expertise into a complex environment where you’ll work closely with leaders and help shape how their teams develop and perform.
Why join us as a People Business Partner?
This is a broad, influential HR role where no two days will look quite the same.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Partner with and coach managers across a range of business areas
Support organisational change, restructures and cultural change
Help leaders manage individual and team performance effectively
Support workforce planning and significant recruitment requirements
Provide guidance on more complex employee relations matters
Contribute to talent and succession planning
Support learning and development priorities
Help deliver reward activity and annual salary review processes
Build strong relationships across the wider People function and organisation
Crucially, you’ll be joining a role where you can challenge, influence and make things happen, rather than simply providing transactional HR support. The role is described as high profile and high impact within the growing Sizewell C team.
What we’re looking for
The hiring team is particularly looking for someone who can demonstrate:
At least 3 to 4 years’ HR Business Partner experience
Experience working within a large-scale business or major project environment
Matrix working experience, with the ability to navigate different reporting lines and stakeholder relationships
Experience providing HR support across multiple areas of a business, rather than supporting one narrow function
A strong HR generalist background and good knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
Confidence coaching, influencing and constructively challenging managers and senior leaders
Experience across areas such as change, performance management, talent, reward, people development, resourcing and employee relations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
You’ll also need to be comfortable operating in a complex environment, balancing strategic priorities with day to day HR activity while remaining commercial, pragmatic and able to deliver at pace.
Qualifications:
You should be CIPD qualified, working towards CIPD membership, hold a relevant equivalent qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent HRBP experience.
Ready to make your impact?
If you’re an experienced HR Business Partner who knows how to navigate a large, complex organisation, build trusted relationships with leaders and turn people strategy into practical action, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now and play your part in building the people capability behind Sizewell C.
For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Why Join Us?
For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.
Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.
EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.
We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.
It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.
Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.
We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
