Company: 10 Feet Tall

Team: Performance Media

Reports to: Performance Director and Strategy Director (Melbourne, Australia)

Manage: Performance Specialist (Philippines)

About 10 Feet Tall

10 Feet Tall is an independent creative and strategic agency working across brand, creative, media, digital and performance to help ambitious businesses grow. We don't see brand and performance as separate disciplines. The strongest marketing connects the two, building brands over the long term while generating measurable results today.

We're now building a performance team in the Philippines to work hand in hand with our Melbourne-based strategy, creative, media and account teams.

Role Purpose

The Performance Manager brings our brand-led approach to performance marketing to life across paid media. This role plans, builds, runs and optimises client campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, TikTok and programmatic platforms, while always keeping sight of the bigger picture.

This is a hands-on role. The Performance Manager is as comfortable inside an ad platform as they are explaining to the Directors what happened, why it happened and what to do next. Execution doesn't get handed off: they stay close to the platforms, the numbers and the optimisation decisions.

The Performance Manager also manages the Philippines-based Performance Specialist, who looks after day-to-day builds and campaign management. The Manager leads, develops and supports the Specialist, owns quality assurance across all offshore work, and steps into the platforms whenever required.

It is also more than a data role. The Performance Manager looks beyond the numbers to understand each client's industry, customers and their journey, competitors and wider market conditions, and focuses on the client's long-term commercial goals rather than short-term, superficial metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Plan Performance Strategy & Structure

  • Turn brand and commercial strategy into strategic and tactical performance media plans.
  • Define channel roles, audience structures, budgets, bidding approaches, measurement frameworks and testing priorities based on each client's commercial goals.
  • Know what needs to happen now, what we're aiming to learn and how those learnings shape the next stage of activity, captured in a clear testing roadmap for each client.
  • Recommend where each client's next marketing dollar should go across search, social and programmatic, and contribute to forecasting and budget allocation.
  • Identify growth opportunities for existing clients and contribute performance thinking to new business proposals.

Balance Brand & Performance

  • Develop full-funnel strategies that balance long-term brand building with short-term conversion.
  • Understand how awareness, consideration, search, social, remarketing and conversion activity work together, rather than treating each channel as a standalone campaign.
  • Optimise for the client's customer journey and long-term commercial outcomes, not just the campaign in front of you.
  • Work with the Strategy Director to ensure performance activity connects to the broader brand and communications strategy.

Build, Run & Optimise Campaigns

  • Plan, build and manage campaigns across:
    • Google Ads, including Search, Display, YouTube, Demand Gen, Shopping and Performance Max
    • Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram)
    • LinkedIn Ads, including Sponsored Content, Lead Gen Forms, Conversation Ads and account-based targeting
    • TikTok Ads, including In-Feed Ads, Spark Ads, lead generation and creator-led content
    • Programmatic platforms such as DV360, StackAdapt
    • Other digital channels where appropriate
  • Monitor campaigns closely and continually look for opportunities to improve performance across audiences, creative, placements, bidding, budgets, landing pages and the broader customer journey.
  • Lead advanced optimisation work on complex, high-spend or high-priority accounts, including bidding strategy, account restructures, audience strategy, feed optimisation and supply path optimisation.
  • Oversee conversion tracking, measurement and attribution set-up, including Google Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, the LinkedIn Insight Tag, and the TikTok Pixel and Events API.
  • Oversee budget pacing across all accounts and act on risks early.
Insights, Reporting & Analytics

  • Own campaign reporting and performance analysis across your accounts.
  • Deliver insights, not observations. Every report should explain what is and isn't working, why it is performing that way, why it matters, and how we will improve and optimise based on those learnings.
  • Ask more than "What is the CPA?" Ask "Why is it happening, and what do we change next?"
  • Factor in external influences such as seasonality, economic conditions, competitor activity, category trends, platform changes and consumer behaviour when interpreting results.
  • Use tools such as GA4, Looker Studio, DataBox, platform insights, search trends and competitor intelligence tools to uncover opportunities.
  • Help develop measurement frameworks, KPIs and attribution approaches with the Performance Director.

Shape Client Recommendations (Internal)

  • This is not a client-facing role. The Performance Director, Strategy Director and Melbourne account teams own client relationships and presentations.
  • Prepare the performance analysis, insights, recommendations and presentation content that the Melbourne team takes to clients, including monthly reports, performance reviews and quarterly business reviews.
  • Present findings and recommendations internally to the Directors, and brief them clearly on what happened, why it happened and what to do next.
  • Make complex performance data simple, commercial and easy to understand, so the Melbourne team can confidently explain it to clients.
  • Constructively challenge assumptions and highlight opportunities, including where each client's next marketing dollar should go.

Collaborate Across the Agency

  • Work closely with strategists, creatives, media planners, developers and account service teams to make sure campaigns never operate in isolation.
  • Translate complex performance tactics, mechanics and data so that every area of the business can understand them.
  • Use performance insights to drive better briefs, better creative, better media decisions and ultimately better work. Sometimes the biggest performance improvement isn't another targeting tweak; it's better creative.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the Philippines team and the Melbourne-based Directors.

Manage the Performance Specialist

  • Line-manage the Performance Specialist, including allocating work, setting priorities, and running regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
  • Brief the Specialist clearly on campaign builds, changes and optimisations, translating direction from the Melbourne Directors into actionable tasks.
  • Coach and develop the Specialist's platform skills, analytical thinking and understanding of strategy, and support their certification and career progression.
  • Manage the team's combined workload and flag capacity issues to the Performance Director early.

Hands-on Support

  • Step into the platforms whenever required, including during peak periods, major launches, complex builds, urgent issues or when the Specialist is at capacity or on leave.
  • Troubleshoot technical, tracking and delivery issues that the Specialist escalates.

Quality Assurance

  • Own the QA process for all offshore performance work.
  • Review and sign off campaign builds, launches, major changes, tracking set-up and reporting before they go live or are shared with the Melbourne team.
  • Develop and maintain QA checklists, naming conventions and account structure standards.
  • Run regular account audits to check hygiene, budget pacing, tracking accuracy and adherence to best practice.
  • Identify the root cause of any errors and put fixes in place so they don't happen again.
  • Develop and maintain processes, checklists and best-practice documentation for the offshore team.
  • Stay across platform updates, industry developments, privacy changes and emerging channels, and recommend how to apply them for clients.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Client campaign performance against agreed KPIs and long-term commercial objectives.
  • Quality, clarity and impact of insights and recommendations.
  • Delivery of testing roadmaps and documented learnings.
  • Accuracy of budget pacing and forecasting across all accounts.
  • Quality and accuracy of work delivered by the offshore team, including campaigns launched error-free following QA sign-off.
  • Development and performance of the Performance Specialist.
  • Quality of the insights and presentation material provided to the Melbourne team.
  • Client account performance and growth.
