Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Planning & Control professional to manage supplier delivery and material availability within Controls Systems. The role will focus on identifying and managing shortages, securing reliable supplier commitments and driving arrears recovery to support operational and customer requirements.
Working closely with suppliers, Procurement and internal stakeholders, you will translate demand into clear delivery priorities, monitor progress against agreed plans and coordinate action to resolve supply constraints. You will maintain visibility of delivery risks, escalate issues promptly and communicate recovery plans through to resolution.
Strong working knowledge of SAP is required, alongside analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. You will need to interpret planning data, challenge delivery commitments constructively and maintain clear priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
What you will be doing:
Supplier Delivery and Arrears Recovery

- Agree and track credible delivery schedules, confirming quantities, delivery dates and progress against commitments.
- Work with suppliers to develop and execute arrears recovery plans, with clear milestones, actions and completion dates.
- Identify supply and capacity constraints that could affect delivery, and coordinate mitigation with suppliers and relevant internal functions.
- Monitor compliance with agreed buffer-stock requirements and address gaps that put material availability at risk.
Shortage Management and Prioritisation
- Identify current and emerging material shortages by reviewing demand, supply, inventory and part-level delivery schedules.
- Assess the impact of shortages on operational and customer commitments and establish clear priorities for recovery.
- Coordinate expediting, stock transfers and shipment activity to support the timely availability of critical parts.
- Track shortages through to resolution, escalating missed commitments or unresolved constraints with a clear statement of impact and required action.
SAP Planning and Data Accuracy
- Maintain accurate planning information in SAP, ensuring delivery dates and supply information reflect current supplier commitments.
- Review and action relevant MRP exception messages, investigating gaps between demand, supply and delivery plans.
- Identify insufficient purchase order coverage and coordinate corrective action with Procurement.
- Support timely demand flow-down and requisition management for unsourced parts, highlighting risks to material availability.
Cross-Functional Resolution and Communication
- Work with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and relevant service providers to remove delivery blockers.
- Coordinate resolution of technical and quality queries, invoice issues and commercial disputes through the responsible functions.
- Provide clear updates on shortages, supplier commitments and recovery progress, including the business impact, action owner and next milestone.
- Escalate issues promptly when recovery plans are not sufficient to protect business requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Work in line with the Procurement Production System and applicable planning and control processes.
- Identify recurring causes of shortages, delivery failures and planning inaccuracies, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Improve delivery tracking, recovery reporting and action management to strengthen visibility and control.
