Platform Engineer

Location: Canberra, ACT preferred

Working Arrangement: Hybrid – Flexible Office / WFH

Contract: 12 months + up to 2 × 12-month extensions

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Security: Baseline Security Clearance preferred

SkyDB is seeking experienced Senior Power Platform Software Engineers to support a major digital transformation program within an Australian Government agency. You’ll join the myAMSA program, an established digital portal being expanded to support a digital-first approach to maritime regulation, improve customer experience, streamline business processes and enhance regulatory service delivery. This is a hands-on senior development opportunity combining Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power Pages, full-stack .NET development and Azure integration.

You’ll work within a small, multidisciplinary delivery team responsible for developing and expanding enterprise digital services.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform and Power Pages
• Build modern front-end functionality using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Develop and integrate backend services using C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL
• Integrate front-end applications with enterprise backend services
• Develop integrations using Azure API Management, Azure Functions and Logic Apps
• Build workflows and automation using Power Automate
• Work within established application architectures and development patterns
• Develop and maintain reusable software components
• Work with Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to solution design
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, business analysts, product teams and other technical specialists

• AI Builder
• Generative AI
• Agent-based solutions

Relevant Microsoft certifications across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure or AI will also be highly regarded.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong commercial experience developing Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions
• Demonstrated Power Pages and Dataverse development experience
• Strong full-stack C#/.NET and JavaScript/TypeScript capability
• Experience integrating Power Platform with Azure services
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture and reusable development patterns
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams
• Genuine interest in working within a small, high-performing government technology environment
  

A current Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance or higher is strongly preferred.

Candidates must meet the relevant Australian Government security requirements.

The role is based in Canberra, ACT, with flexible office/WFH arrangements.

Canberra-based candidates are strongly preferred, although highly suitable interstate candidates may still be considered.
