Platform Engineer (with a Data focus)

Who we are and what we do:

Viedoc is a Swedish medtech company offering a clinical trials platform. It supports clinical studies in over 100 countries and is trusted by some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Our cloud-based platform holds sensitive medical data for millions of patients, so security and reliability come first.

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll help shape how the platform is built and operated, at a time when we’re actively evolving it. Your team owns the infrastructure and works closely with teams across the company.

What you’ll do:

You’ll own the database infrastructure behind our product, from availability and access to performance, and help us run it as code. We’re moving from a traditional ops setup toward modern platform engineering and SRE practices, so you’ll help design the new infrastructure, not just maintain what’s already there.

We’re an enabling team that builds and runs our infrastructure in Azure, from landing zones and governance to containers, networking and security, giving our developers and data teams a secure, reliable platform to build on. We work in an agile way, often pair up to solve problems, and AI is a natural part of our daily work.

What your day-to-day could look like:

• Manage our MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis databases, from high availability to disaster recovery

• Keep the database platform secure, audit-ready and performant, together with our developers

• Enable our new data warehouse team with the infrastructure, access and pipelines they build on

• Build infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and automation

• Contribute to Azure governance and landing zone architecture

• Work across the wider platform, from containers to networking and security

Our current tech stack:
Azure, Bicep, Azure DevOps/GitHub, PowerShell, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Azure Managed Redis, AI assistants

Who you are:

• You’ve got a strong background as a DBA or in a similar role

• You have hands-on experience with Redis or another in-memory data store

• You have experience with scripting, ideally PowerShell

• You have a doer mindset, enjoy teamwork and share what you learn

• You’re fluent in English

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with Azure in production environments

• Working knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally Bicep

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally in Azure DevOps or GitHub
